A diplomat enters the Emporers room.

The Emporer looks up after the usual formalities.

Diplomat "Your Excellancy, the allied powers have reached out to us for tentative discussions of their withdrawing from the war!"

Emporer "That is strange why may this be"

Diplomat "They see growing sentiment against the war since we are leading by over a 4 to 1 margin"

The Emporer raises an ebrow "4 to 1?"

Diplomat "Yes Excellancy apparently the acountants keep track of value of all gains and ship losses for both sides and they publish this daily!, it appears the citizens get very upset if this is greater then 4 to 1 after one year of the war!"

Emporer "Interesting, well make sure the fleet is ready to add more damage to any actions the allies take to try and reduce public displeasure"

Diplomat "As you request"

A loud clank is heard thru the harbor as a large hammer finish's its swing against a rusted chuck, followed quickly by other loud clanks. Then the sound of chains being hoisted is heared throughout the harbor's of the south pacific. A 1st Lt walks briskly up to the Captain on the bridge and stops.

1st Lt "Captain the fleet is being made ready after a long rest"

Captain "To long, it appears the allied command does not wish to negotiate their surrender but intend to try and reclaim lost territories"

1st Lt "We shall throw them back"

Captain "Yes, as we always have, unfortunatly we have no intel, it seems the scout planes like our ships have also been at rest, I feel uneasy untill they tell us what we are facing"

1st Lt "From a villager it appears they have landed 2 regiments at Broome, unfortunatly we have left that ungarrisoned"

Captain "Yes very unfortunate, make the fleet ready for combat, and alert the entire pacific fleet, all search planes up in all directions, this may not be the only incursion!"

Cdr Maekawa peers through his binoculars as they race at full speed. They had recieved orders the day before enemy forces invading Broome, composition unknown, quantity unknown. His was the closest ship, immediatly he gave orders to pull anchor and procede at full speed towards Broome and engage the unknown forces.

The night had passed uneventful as it was a full days journey but they arrived at daylight. Thunderstorms kept visibility to 3000 yards. This he knew favored him as he was just a lone destroyer vs unknown forces.

A call came from the forward spotter, many enemy ships 30 degree's off starboard 3000 yards. The crew was prepared and quickly began to calculate range to the most valuable targets, shells began to land along side the destroyer.

Cdr Maekawa was awed by the size of the fleet confronting him, but its escorts were weak. He knew DD Asagiri would make good account of itself this day. The woosh of torpeo's launching was followed by all guns beginning to pound into the ships. There would be toast of saki tonight.

As the next day dawns the DD Asagiri heads back to the nearest port to rearm. The early morning scout planes notice that the allies still have ships unloading at Broome but have also detached some that are heading back to perth.

Betties with torpedo's show up at Broome to deliver a message that this is a no allied zone.

While the allies have lost a fair number of ships in this operation they have landed 3 sizable units, the question is can they supply them.

At Daly Waters 9 of the 11 units have advanced into Daly, the Japanese General orders an immediate Shock attack to try and force out the intruders, though losses are heavy on both sides. Samurai's once again drink saki at the next Sunrise!

Overall the 1st week of Dec has become busy vs the previous months. The activity in the North is probably resupply of Dutch Harbor as there are 10 units there.

In Australia the advance on Daly Waters is stalled with the initial retreat of the allied forces, we are bombing them as they are only 40 miles from our base, their fighters no longer provide CAP, the attrition rate was to high.

At Broome one Rgt has moved 40 miles east towards Derby, we have on unit there plus aircraft, so we have begun bombing the advancing troops. No sign of reinforcements, we have sunk the only AK that took refuge in the Harbor.

The Emporer is pleased although high command admits most of the transports were small and of little value except for 4 AP types. The AO bagged at Dutch was definatly worthwile.

There is less then 23 days to sway allied public opinion, these small feints will not get the job down. We are looking for the main hammer and the big ships. We will not be distracted from the goal of an ever rising sun!

Oh yea, it was reported several overzealous Betties were lost over Suva, this was not the first time this has happened and we understand it is the way of the Samurai!

Surpisingly this was luck not planned for the 12th to arrive. It was originally a Kwangtang division that was converted to fight in China when Scott had 11 units running in my rear. I converted the division then shipped it by rail to stem Scotts thrust just in time. After that was handled it marched to the coast and was picked up about 20 some days ago give or take, and was enroute to another location when Scott invaded. It was directed immediatly here and arrived just in time. Not great planning but more luck.

Dec 21st 1942

The citizens of the Co-prosperity sphere hear the drone of many airplanes, its louder then the normal fighter sound that fills the air. As the peer north they see many large airplanes, the allied powers are again trying to disturb the peace and tranquility the co-prosperity sphere provides. They see the Japanese fighters head towards the group the warning of the approaching enemy planes is not enough to stop the bombers initially. The bombers pass up the airfield and head towards the harbor, there are a dozen transports unloading but the planes ignore these and go after the docked ships. There are to many planes not to miss these ships, but there are only 4 patrol boats, and 2 minesweepers.

The enemy planes turn back after their loads are released and run into the full might of the fighter defense. Many go down. Several more raids come in, and some bombers turn back in fear. At the end of the day all 4 patrol boats and 2 minesweepers are at the bottom of the Harbor. But as the walk thru the streets counting the wreckage they total 65 enemy planes lost for only 12 samurai's. Amazingly it is reported only 2 pilots are killed. This definatly must be a blow to the allied morale!

This battle was very realistic, very few of the fighters were ready for the initial raid, and the initial battle was brief before the bombers did the port strike, most of the damage to the first raid was done after the port strike where the japanese fighters had reached greater numbers. The subsequant raids encountered these higher numbers but the Japanese planes gradually ran out of ammo or were to tired, as can be seen from the last raid. It was a victory from the air side with 65 enemy planes to 12 japanese. The loss of the PB's was minor as those ships had been in port for many months. I give credit to the experianced Samurai's fighting over their base where the enemy had to travel to us.

China

We attack at Ankang and get 1 to 2 odds, barely missing 1 to 1 we are not totally unhappy with the results. As we see they are out of supply and in a bad way. There are inaccurate reports of Chinese killed obviously.

The 38th Division finally reaches the nothern most Chinese town and quickly evicts the demoralized chinese. There is one town further west, but the commander ponders the russian city to the north.

The allied airforce fly's against the japanese forces 40 miles south of Daly, the airbattles come out even but the japanese troops are hit hard. This may be to little a show of force to stem the negotiating tables and public sentiment.

ACME Air Force strike again

Dear Emperor
We here at the ACME Corporation on the South Pole would like to extend our sincere
thanks for your assistance with Operation Stew. Thanks to the Oscars on patrol our
pilots were able to punch their way through and deal a crushing blow to those wandering
into our territory south of Daly Waters. Thirty of our pilots experienced increase in experience
thanks to the superior intellect of our Training Command.
