And they'll forget that St Patrick was British.

What? Is that so?

yep.

He was Romanized Celt from the area where England is now (i.e. the old Roman holdings). He was almost certainly British in the oldest sense of the word, but definitely NOT English.

We actually had St Paddy's day dinner last night. Bangers and mash. It was quite good.

Those "British" are what some call Celts now. Some of them ended up in Brittany, hence its name.

Not yet. But both England and France need to show respect to Japan for it's "Un-Navy".

Not quite so off-topic for Steve:

Did you know that Garand (of M1 Garand rifle fame) was Canadian? Furthermore, he was Quebecois. I just thought that was interesting since you (and I) have quite a bit of blood from there.

ETA: Steve, your PM inbox is full.

I tend to use 'Briton' when I mean the old Celtic types. At least on this side of the pond, 'British' invokes visions of Union Jacks and Spitfires......

First day at the new gig tithe.

Unfortunately my "vacation" had dealt rather roughly with my internal clock. Hopefully I will not come off as a complete drooling idiot on my first day (Steve, zip it! ).

Good luck, Yuri! (and good preemptive strike at Steve )

What? What did I do? Say? Think? Whatever?

He's honoring you as the inventor of the blast! Of course Onime isn't as easy to say as Faber. So we call it a blast rather than "an Onime".
