The Tojo and variants use the Ha-35 engine in game. It should be the Ha-34. (The Ha-34 is also used on the Helen.)

if it�s true then I wouldn�t call it minor though because the Japanese then can use the number one mass produced engine for the number one mass produced IJAAF fighter too instead of having to invest into a different engine. Saves probably a hundred thousand supply at least and the time to get the plants running of course.

But I have to expend that 100k supply now to expand Ha-35 production. If I had to expend it for Ha-34 it's the same cost to a first order approximation. At the second order, it's true that you do gain flexibility benifits if all of the expansion is to the same engine.

Well that depends if the Japanese production is in any way proportional to real levels or was just something tweaked to be a challenge.

I meant "minor" as in "easy to fix." It is a somewhat significant bug for the reasons you mentioned. Fixing it might also somewhat lessen the "Why bother producing Tonys?" effect.
