Hi guys,

I just got an "Out of Memory" crash accompanied by a giant red X across the screen on a white background. The game was pretty busy - 19 empires on a 1000 star map. Was having a blast thanks to the new patch, but I lost about 2 hours of progress due to the crash. Oh well.

Here are my specs: Intel Core2Duo OC'd at 3.6 GHz 4 GB of DDR2 RAM ATI Radeon 4850 X2 2 GB RAM Windows 7 64 bit

I should mention that right after the crash I have approximately 2.6 GB of memory free. I'm assuming it was about the same prior to running DW. Is this a bug or should the minimum requirements for such a large galaxy map be raised?

Elliot will know the likely cause here, but may I recommend that until we implement the auto-save, you folks set an egg-timer or something to remind you to quick-save? I feel physical pain every time I read about someone losing two hours of play time, I'm sure it was worse for you than it was for me too, but I really wish we'd managed to catch these bugs earlier.

We'll be continuing to prioritize any crash reports in each update until such reports stop appearing.

As a side note, when you get a crash and the game is still up, it's always worth trying to save just in case it is still possible.
