Well, this is my first AAR, but I'm an avid roleplayer and think I can handle this. Note that I am no pro at the game and will likely get owned, but hopefully I can provide an interesting story for you guys. Note that content will be more heavy early on because of all the discoveries. Soon pirate raids and space monsters will become commonplace and not require major description, etc.

Galaxy: Elliptical
Size: Small
Alien Life: Teeming
Expansion: Mature
Aggression: Restless
Research: Normal
Space Creatures: Few (Hate these)
Pirates: Normal

Empire Name: The Commerce Federation
Home System: Excellent
Size: Starting
Tech Level: Basic
Race: Teekan
Government: Mercantile Guild

8 random other Empires, all starting, basic tech, random distance, normal home system.

Prologue: Around 2600, an unknown ship crashed down onto the Teekan planet of Upetiehr. Up until this time, the Teekans had been content dealing with their own planet and its problems, until this incident, much like the humans on Earth. Commercial Gyrations Inc. used some of their contacts and extremely shady deals to gain first access to this unknown alien ship. Stripping everything of potential value, the rest of the world was left to think it had come to nothing.

150 years later, around 2750, Commercial Gyrations reveals what it has learned: there is alien life out there, and they solely have the technology to reach it. What an outrage, hm? The Governments of the World were more powerful than any company, and were going to arrest the individuals in charge, when it was revealed that the Mystery Ship was in fact a colony ship full of Dhayut. Commercial Gyrations unleashed this army of Dhayut upon Upetiehr. Teekans, being small meek things, were unprepared to deal with these Dhayut, who could handle heavy weaponry that would be mounted on Teekan vehicles with ease. A force of 600 million quickly conquered the 9.5 billion Teekans. 2 billion actually resisted, and were destroyed ruthlessly, and after that no one dared to lift a finger against Commercial Gyrations.

15 years later, on the 6th of July, Commercial Gyrations, now the controller of the world, renames itself as the Commerce Federation, and announces its plans to enter space with their own prototype ships within two years. Volunteers were being looked for to participate in colony training, which would train Teekans to survive and prosper on planets barren of life. Many volunteers came forward, and the Commerce Federation now had a force of Teekans ready to populate in an instant.

After 2 years, as promised, on the anniversary of the founding of the Commerce Federation, a massive space station project is completed and a naval fleet is launched into space along with experimental construction, refueling, and exploration ships. The world is forced to cheer with broken hearts as a new age begins.

Nakeet Tiderc, "CEO" of the Commerce Federation (Ruler of the World), sat at his desk, watching the successful launch of the one thing they had spent more money on than anything else. Pleased, he turns to the datapad on his desk, scrolling through the information. At the moment he was interested in colony reports. He had to place he colony trainees somewhere, because right now he was feeding them. That meant lost profits.

"3 targets in system...Let's see..." Reading further, two seemed normal, but it seemed life signs similar to the Dhayut had been detected on the third. "So that's how this business started..." That was where the original ship came from. He immediately ordered that the construction of the colony ships be finalized and they dispatched to the two uninhabited planets. He would hold out on the third, waiting to see if military force would be neccesary to colonize it.

In only several days of exploring, another ship had been discovered within the star system. This ship seemed extremely powerful. But the Dhayuts lacked the intelligence to create that. Or at least, the ones in this system did. There must have been someone here before us. Nakeet Tiderc decides to keep this under wraps, because the possible presence of a hostile empire would destroy the peace, which the Dhayut army was barely keeping now. That would change soon with the profits that would be quickly gained, however.

Near this ship, an ancient temple is found. It appears to affect Dhayuts by it negatively, they become terrified at the sight of it. Nakeet Tiderc sees possible profit or the power to subjugate the Dhayuts with this, and unseals the temple. Afterwards, the ship who unsealed it never reported back. Nakeet gives orders for the war fleet to investigate...

Giant Kaltors! The fleet opens fire, terrified of these massive beasts that are nearly as big as a city. Soon, the monsters are destroyed, at seeemingly little cost...A scare, and the second major encounter of alien life. It doesn't seem to be too pretty at the moment.
