So I'm starting with making renders of all the eve ships and stations and this is what I have so far.

I did not make any of the models btw, I simply extracted them from EVE and rendered them in Max10.

All ships will be placed inside 300x300 .png files. Why am I formatting them all this way? I figure making them slightly larger than they need to be allows any future modders to resize them to whatever dimensions they please.

These files are not "ready to go". I am simply making an easy to use set of EVE ships from the top-down perspective with the alpha already separated.

Would it be possible to make a full blown Eve mod using these models and perhaps some more assets (portraits, for example) recreating the different races and subraces of Eve? I'd be willing to help but I've got zero knowledge about modding DW and how it could be achieved though I'm handy with photoshop and getting those visual assets the mod might need.

Do you mean that there are too many ships or there aren't enough ships?
My guess is that there are enough for the factions available, if we consider it like this:

Races: 16 in total, 4 core races and 12 subraces that for all purposes are races apart but within a faction; all are human obviously;

Caldari
Amarr
Gallente
Minmatar
True Amarr
Ni-Kunni
Khanid
Deteis
Civire
Achura
Gallente
Intaki
Jin-Mei
Brutor
Sebiestor
Vherokior


In terms of ships you have Frigates, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, Battleships, Carriers (including Motherships), and Titans, not to mention specific Tech II upgraded ships (meaning different models) and Tech III, Faction Ships and Shuttles and Mining/Industrial ships.

5 core races actually, you forgot the Jove.. ;) And what i meant there are to many ships to get them all in DW. And the subraces dont change a things though, their part of a race which means their ships stay the same. Different textures for pirate or faction ships though, which might count as another race.

Shoot, even one single races full shipset could probably fill the entire DW shipset :P

I'm just doing all of them so people can pick and choose whatever ships they like best.

@Conflictx: yeah, I was stating the bloodlines/subraces because a game with only 4/5 races in a huge galaxy would result in massive empires and as such an Eve mod could have the subraces as different empires but allied/friendlier towards their "faction".

Yeah, Eve has more ships than DW can use and that's a good thing, no lack of models.

Now I've got to get my hands on some modding tutorials and start working on it. :)

I've updated the main post with the full Amarr shipset.

I did not include the tier II or III ships unless they were unique as I couldnt figure out how to extract the tiered textures.

Also I didnt include some stations becuase they either would not extract, or they just looked nothing like a station from the top view... Still, the main stations are included.

Caldari is next!

I just tried it out in-game and I definitely need to re-render the capships and bases at 500x500. The big ones get pixellated even at 300x300

I do all my stuff at 500*500, never know when you want that escort ship image to be a capital ship one day. :)
