Thats a handsome fellow. I dont think I wanna be the guy that tries to slaughter him.

Who the hell was brave enough to draw dotted lines and numbers on him though?

I'm sure it had to be someone very nimble. Or very female....

I personally hope that it lifts soon. Far too many people on the train.

Symptom: Terminus feels "crowded".

Solution: Mass murder.

Hi all,

My train ride is 16 minutes. From Aalborg to Copenhagen takes about 6 hours (I think). No idea about flight times; it's sorta silly to want to fly from one end of this very small country to the other.

Thanks for info Kristian!

BTW, I just checked Google Maps and it is rather big "U" shape from Aalborg to Copenhagen equaling 400+ km by car and estimated at 4 hours... the flight would be much shorter and direct... it surely pays off...

Leo "Apollo11"

How about a rowboat, then?

IIRC the last time Eyjafjallajökull erupted 100 or so years ago the eruption lasted for 12 months...

I wonder if we can go back to trains and ships and forget about airplanes in travel...

12 months ugh

And let us not forget catastrophic eruption of Laki on Iceland in 1783!

This eruption seriously changed the world weather for years (especially Europe)...

Look at the bright side, no more of those annoyingly hot summers, most of the year you can store food outside, so you wont need refrigerators, and if you want to go to the beach, you have an excuse to go to the US. Quite a few Threadsters live near beach areas and would love to buy you a beer.

Wouldn't the Danes preferably sail instead of rowing?

Well, if the new glaciers absorb enough of the seawater it wont be that big of a problem.

I know what your thinking, but no. I bet that the majority of these Danes, including Terminus, are about as seaworthy as I am.

Jeepers, I wonder what happened to this creep's left eye? Think maybe the vomiting made it puff up a bit? Other than mandatory castration, of course, I hope they throw the book at this waste of carbon.

Yep - same here - interested to see those!

BTW, here is what sunsets looked like years after one of the biggest volcanic eruption in our time - the Krakatoa in Indonesia (1883 eruption)...

quote:

Optical effects of the 1883 eruption were noted around the world. A series of pastels by William Ascroft documented atmospheric effects such as this lurid November 16, 1883 sunset at Chelsea, London. In addition to extraordinarily long and vivid sunsets, skies became progessively more brilliant after the cessation of normal twilight.

Pastel by William Ascroft, 1883 (from the Science Museum, London):

I'd have liked to see some of those "brilliant sunsets", but unfortunately we're under 9/10 cloud here...

Not really been paying attention to them. It's getting dark pretty rapido, but work has meant I've been inside doing paperwork instead of looking at the sky...

EDIT: Airspace down until 1300 BST Sunday, no surprise there. I wouldn't be surprised if it stayed shut until Monday either.
