Hi -
probably a simple answer...but I am in the midst of a Guadalcanal game
and I have a BB with no ammo...
its docked...and has been for about 5 turns (ship is not damaged)
but how the heck does it get its guns ammo ???

A BB has to be in a large port (7 or greater IIRC) in order to rearm. If you've got an AKE or AE type ship that is loaded with supplies and has a capacity larger than (again IIRC) 5000, it will rearm the BB also if located in any port.
