Would it be possible to get a high resolution screenshot of the entire map? It would make it easier to follow the AAR's.

Thank you.

Or can anyone link to a good and detailed relief map of European Russia? I have Googled and can't find one with the right level of detail for this game. I want a map to link to, to see what's out of the screen shots, with rivers, hills, cities and main towns!!

Of course an online historical atlas would be even better!

Many thanks

Hi!
Go to this interesting map site.
http://english.mapywig.org/news.php
Then go to german maps. There you find, among others,
one overview map in scale 1:2,5 M from-44

See, contrary to my parents advice, if you don't ask you don't get...

Many thanks, Goran. This looks great - although I'm going to have to get used to some of the city names (Ssmolensk is just for starters!)

It also looks like there are loads of other really useful maps on this site - I had a quick look at the more detailed Narwa map for example! A great resource for scenario builders.

For anyone else who wants the big map, here's the direct link (I hope it works):
http://www.mapywig.org/m/German_maps/1919-1945/other/Europa_1_2.5M_Europaeisches_Russland_1944.jpg

Having saved it (it's quite a big file) and opened it in Windows Photo Viewer I can can now easily zoom in and out to see where the rivers and cities are in relation to each other.

Thanks again - maybe we'll have a PBEM one day
Stuart

Hi again.
When it comes to maps I am very interested.
The link given above is, as said, to a great site.
Another one that I want to remind about is
http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com
The founder of it is John Calvin.
In the beginning you could buy maps there but now its free for researchers.
It has many very interesting maps of different types from detailed big scale maps to
air view photos and small scale " Lagekarten"
I guess that game makers, scenario builders and gamers in a wide sense are "researchers".
Trying to make historically correct maps and OOB's,
compairing different sources and asking questions.

For those interested in WW2 maps. One site that has a discussion is
http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&f=74&page=1&pp=20&sort=lastpost&order=desc&daysprune=-1
My site for uploads is www.mannaberg.se ( Although not so active since WitE takes all free time.)

The map is in the <install dir>\Dat\Art\Zoom*-folders in pieces. For every zoom level and grid on/off -combination there are between 4 and 63 images, depending on the zoom level.

In a thread above (Scenario design and modding) you have a high resolution
zoom2 variant with names from a German Operation Karte of Russland -42.
