when ? How many time ? If you can/want to tell of course.

Going for 10 days in July. I'm hoping I'll survive a few days before expiring from severe melting.

T, I was thinking of you and Danmark tonight, at dinner I tried a very interesting beer. Mikkeller - Nugget single hop IPA. A Danish IPA? Who would have thought?  It was very, very good. England had better watch it'self, lest it suffer another Dannish invasion!

Why? As if they have anything we want...

Plenty of microbrewers in Denmark, besides Mikkeller. I'm sure you could find other IPAs.

Why would Denmark need a beer that can survive a sea journey to India?

Well, you certainly found plenty that you wanted from 800 to 1066 AD! I'm sure that there are lots of brewers that I'd like in your country. What's surprising is that they make it to here. (As a friend in Portugal once said to me, "of course Portugese wine tastes better here than what we export to your country! You don't think we'd send our best , do you? It would be wasted!".

What surprised me was that other countries besides the Anglo ones make IPA's. Right next to Mikkeller on the menu was a Japanese one!

BTW , until I discovered English ales in the mid 80's , my favorite beer in all the world was Toboug dark.

So they can take with them when they invade places much further afield then England? Scarey! I'll alert the National Guard!

We were just talking about this this morning in the office about the lasting effect Denmark has had on regionals accents, dialects and place names in England.

In case you didn't know;

We have that word in Sweden as well, with the same meaning as the wiki entry below;

The Danegeld ("Danish tax", literally "Dane's gold", pronounced /ˈdeɪn¨Àɛld/[1]) was a tax raised to pay tribute to the Viking raiders to save a land from being ravaged. Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danegeld

But then they at least built it on their own turf.
