Or "nou", if you prefer...

It was supposed to be NII , not "nou".

Or maybe you prefer Eki Eki Tapeng !

It's "Pting!", actually... Don't make me start using sarcasm now...

DINSDALE!

DINSDALE!

If I recall correctly, to T's point, Doug (of the Piranha brothers) excelled in the use of sarcasm as a weapon. That and nailing one's head to a table.

You didn't recognize the routine? It's almost as memorable as the "dead parrot sketch" or "The lumberjack song".

Nope. I was never big into it until I met you guys. And seeing how no one has ever posted a link to this, I've never seen it.

Well, there's no accounting for taste.

Jeez, you guys are PITAs. It wasnt on TV by the time I learned English, OK? So I never saw it. Benny Hill was, and I loved it. Maybe if it was on regularly, I might have the same level of reverence for it you do.

I'm talking about mid-90s here, he who makes fun of people for using technology.

As for reruns, what do you suppose Benny Hill was? Live feed from London?

I'll never make fun of people who use technology! I've been a "tech geek" all my life. What I do laugh at is people who are helpless without it. You need to party likes it's 1799 occassionally! Like go camping.Or sailing or horseback riding. Or do a Bobo and go shoot something (or in Bob's case, a lot of somethings!).

I do two of the 3 (leaving Bobo's pastimes of shooting and binge drinking, one necessarily following the other, but not ion any set order , completely aside). The third I skip simply because throwing up is NOT my idea of fun. Come to think, thats probably why I dont binge drink either.

As for 1799, I would love to. Of course I assume there is classical music and gentlemanly debate involved. If there's any dress-up, though, count me out.

Monty Python's Flying Circus has been regularly televised in syndication on most public television stations in the US since it was widely embraced by the US in 1975-1976. Frequently co-broadcast with Benny Hill. At least that was the case while I was growing up-and still is.

I do miss "Dave Allen at Large"-similar humor to Benny Hill. I haven't seen that one in a long time.

Do yourself a favor and Netflix (or buy the DVDs) the lot of 'em. You won't regret it. If you want a trial run of MP sketch humor, try "And Now for Something Completely Different" or "Live at the Hollywood Bowl".

1799? No thanks. Bad teeth, boorish English behavior towards the colonialists, scurvy, thyphoid, scarlet fever, famine, cradle to grave manual labor and-worst-no WiTP:AE. [shudders]

I dont recall ever seeing Monty Python (until I caught Life of Bryan on TV, censored to heck, I'm sure). Benny was on channel 9, IIRC.

I really liked Dave Allen. He was a lot classier than Benny Hill.

For me it has to be post invention of penicillin. Pre-antibiotics were really bad times.

nope. Rochester NY.

or as i like to call it. ..."Rech"ester.

So flour = snow. Check.

Rechester gets little snow and produces no more flour, only flowers hence its new title of "the Flower city"

The same way NJ is the Garden State?

That's only because they have that Garden State Freeway.

Well, 12 is no more a baby, no ?

Then, of course, nothing can force someone to grow up. For example, i know a men who is 40 and still a child....and....oh, forget it.

Happy party

In a few years he'll have to deal with the Bar Mitzvah.

Well, our son won't have to deal with that, but I'm sure he'll complain that he's being cheated out of an opportunity for presents once he learns of it.
