My current install of Distant Worlds and War in the Pacific AE are on Windows 7. Both of the game launchers (Game Menu) have the administrator shield on the icon and when I click it a pop up will ask me if I want to allow this program to make changes. I click yes and then I get the launcher window.

Have I installed the program wrong? Should it just run without this extra step?

Really? No one else is running Windows 7 and could answer this question?

I have these same things on Win7.  Nothing to worry about.

Same thing here, when I click on it, it ask if I want to do it. There is a way around this if you like. I think if you make a short cut to the .exe directly on your desk top, it will launch the game right away, and not even go to the screen, where you click to read the manual play game, or check for updates.

I am on Windows 7 64 bit.

Thank you, Arnir and Davor. I questioned my install because I recently bought Uncommon Valor and it installed without the Admin shield. I thought maybe I did something wrong with Distant Worlds and War in the Pacific. I'm new to Win7.

Thanks guys!!

You are welcome. I am new to Windows 7 too, and DW is the only game that seems to run on administrator privilage. Not shure if it can be turned off or not, but I made a short cut so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I do this for all my games.
