Played CC many moons ago - have just got the new version! Should I use a mod to improve it, and if so, which one?

Only if you want to.... but I recommend it .

See a few mods here

http://closecombat.matrixgames.com/LongestDay/tLDmods.html

and davidssfx has just relesed his On Ground mod that might be worth a look

Mods are fun, add life to the game and won't harm your stock game

Thanks for the reply.

What mods would you suggest are the best? Is this ground-tactics one the best at the mo?

I am not expert enough to know what would be good to have or not!! I just want to try and get the best set-up before I go for the campaign game

Also, how do I download the mods? Do they auto change things or do I have to open them into specific areas?

The six mods are all auto installers and as long as you follow the defaults no other action is required on your part.

Each of them will create a desktop shortcut to easily start the mod.

They also leave your original game intact and playable at any time.

Thanks. I have dowloaded the ground tactics.

AS to the other mods, can they all be used at the same time, or is it a choice of using one or the other?

As to the mods, is it a good idea to use the scoring mod? Is the default scoring lacking? What about the soldier size mod? Does this just make the soldiers bigger? if so, do they still look in proportion to the buildings etc? If I was too use it, which of the soldier sizes is best?

Sorry about all the questions!

There are no definitive answers.... it's all a matter of preference.

I like the 9.5px  small soldiers by ukongold.

All the mods can be installed concurrently.... so you can play one battle in each of the various mods one after the other... if you want.... and then play the stock game.. Life's good!
