... or a demonstration of the value of having lots and lots of exploration ships:

Not shown: the two colonies both have ruins on them for an even greater development bonus. One of those ruins also happens to give +100% weapons research bonus. Sometimes the cards go your way I guess.

Anyone else seen something this crazy?

Looks like you are very lucky. :)

I guess galaxy settings have a big influence on the probability of such thing, what was yours?

Used Quick start and selected Galactic Republic - Wild Frontiers with the Kiadan race.

I don't think my galaxy settings had much of an effect, it was just pure luck.

Shape: Spiral
Size: Small
Independent Life: Teeming
Expansion: Young
Aggression: Chaos
Research Speed: Slow
Space Creatures: Few
Pirates: Many
