1.0.4.6 (same thing happened in 1.0.4.5)

Galaxy settings : All sliders on normal, 1400 stars, 19 AIs

If you start a new game with 19 AIs of the same race as you (tested with Teekan and Zenox, but I am pretty sure it is the same with any race), everyone start at the same location!

Here is an example :

Strange isn't it? Work as intended? Bug?

How did you have the distance slider set as far as to how close to you they would be?

I'm not convinced this slider (distance) is working correct though. I just had a game where all but one race was set to "far away" - well some of them weren't, and the one that was supposed to be somewhat near was clear on the other side of the Galaxy

Yes I have done some tests with this slider too, and finally I prefer choose random because if you choose something different it often results in having large area of the galaxy totally empty of any empire. Note that it occurs also with the 'random' settings, but I have the feeling that it is less relevant.

Concerning the screen below, as said in the post, all settings were on 'normal' and all AIs were generated. No sliders tweaking. :)

It seems that definitively there is something odd in the starting position when not using the 'auto-generate' option for IAs empire.

I was doing some tests to investigate some strange colonization behavior and finally, when looking with the editor, I found another thing related to the subject of this post : many empires, for a given race, started in the same system.

Start a new game, all sliders on normal, 1400 stars, manually add 19 IAs, not allow independant colonies to become empire, and look with the editor the starting positions. Many empires of the same race start in the same system. Pretty odd no?

Work as intended? Bug?
