Hi all, new guy here. First wanted to say I am impressed by this game, it has some real potential.I've never seen any attempt at building a living galaxy in a 4x before. not to mention the whole concept of private enterprise. I really wish there would be some policies and the like you could chose to add more depth, but that's not the motive of this post.

I am playing the .4.9 version and seem to be having a problem with War, somehow, the state of war seems to restate to no relation and have, shortly after, the enemy complaining about my attacks (amusing at first, I mean, when I didn't notice the relations were being reset, complaining about being attacked and threatening with retaliation...) If needed I can upload saves.

Thanks

Check your Advisors for treatys. Is he on automatic when he can declare war and accept peace by his own and you just get a small msg. at the window above.

My advisor is set recommend - mode, so no automatic war/peace changes should happen, but it had made so far once (with 1.04.9).

This mostly brings up again, the ease of accidentally firing at neutral ships, when the diplomacy AI may have randomly started or stopped a war for you, and all the ships look the same because multiple races all use the same tileset and tend not to be particularly memorable or unique.

Just to bump this and add my two cents:

I have my advisors on 'recommend treaties'. All other advisers are off because of the disruptive effects and uselessness of their advice.

Before 1.0.4 I was a bit annoyed by how the empires I was stomping on would unilaterally declare themselves subjugated to me thus ending a war. But I was at least informed about these changes through a message.

Since 1.0.4.9 this seems to happen without any notification. Now they do not go into subjugation when war ends either, often while I still have an invasion force on their capital or somesuch battling it out.

This admitting defeat and going into subjugation was fine by me. But the current behavior is just one of those very 'me fuming' moments.

He said policies not police, there is a difference. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Policy
