The music is not bad at all, but I feel most tracks are just too fast for this game. I think an epic 4x space game like this would need slow and mystical music to maximise the immersion. Most of the tracks are just to jubilant/fast IMO.

What's your opinion about this? And could new tracks be incorporated into future patches?

I will enlighten you

Under the map Customization you make a folder ( you may name it how you want").
In that folder you have to make a subfolder Named "Music".

The requerements for the customized music is that it has to be mp3

And the manuel says you need atleast 2 mp3 to work , but i can confirm it works with 1 mp3 song ?!
These mp3's will be played radomly.

I agree. Some of the music in DW does feel out of place for a game set in deep space, but luckily, it is easy to add music to the game.

I've added music from SW: Empire At War (many good tracks here) and MoO2. Now, I don't know how DW makes its playlists, but I've noticed that after adding a few, my newer songs play more than the originals. In fact, one or two of the original tracks never play anymore.

Yes, I thought the music was poor.
So I added my own mp3s and deleted all the stock music.

You don't even need to mod anything, just go into the music folder, and put in what ever MP3 you want in there, and take what you want out. It's all random though so I don't think you can control what order the music plays though.

The music is not paced to the game-- super fast space techno seemed out of place for the early game, but works fine for later when theres crazy wars and lots going on.

Theres an upgraded soundtrack out there for Star Control 2 that would probably work pretty well.
