Matrix Musters Volunteer Corps!

Matrix Games will be attending several conventions again this year and we are also looking to expand to smaller local conventions. If the last year is any guide, we could use a few good gamers to join us. We are announcing the formation of the Matrix 1st Volunteer Infantry, whose members will join us at conventions and other events, helping us to demonstrate our games and discuss them with other gamers and man our booths as necessary. Please note that we are also interested to hear from gamers who feel that their local or regional con would be suitable for a Matrix Games demonstration table. We are still working out the details, but if you are interested and either planning to or would like to attend a convention together with us or on our behalf, please contact us at volunteers@matrixgames.com for more information and to get on our muster rolls.

Thanks, Eddy.

Everyone, if you're interested in the compensation, you should send us an e-mail. It depends on the situation and convention.

Regards,

- Erik

You get free belgium beer (that is if you demonstrate matrix games with eddy at a belgium convention :) ).

What more do you want!?

I did apply by email. When is the "more information" likely to appear?
Not that it really matters for Australia since the national wargaming convention in Canberra is this coming weekend so I'd say we've missed it for this year :)

Please note that we are also interested to hear from gamers who feel that their local or regional con would be suitable for a Matrix Games demonstration table.

You might want consider demoscene events. For example in Assembly (in Finland) is plenty game related discussion and events even though games are not the central point of the event (it is demoscene). Right now Assembly can be biggest annual demoscene event but it is also big game event.

During this millennia Assembly has seen number of big names, like RJ Mical, who shared some rewards. In that year (don't remember which) highest award gone to demo which was created with Amiga. When Mical shouted "Amiga rules!", he got load applauds from crowd.

Visits by big names of Matrix, like Joel Billings and Gary Grigsby, would definitely promote independent game industry (if we call 2 by 3 independent...). Big companies go to E3 but in smaller events single persons are easier to be noticed.

Matrix might get even new flesh to grinder. If you got interested about DamoclesX becouse his work with mods, you might get interested about those people who do demoscene.

If Matrix is looking for a presence at Cancon in Australia in January 2006 this is probably a good time to start planning for it

Would love to help, but aside from getting to Toronto, it's unlikely I could actually appear anywhere where I could be of help.

Oh well, should the day ever come that Matrix Games can appear at an event happening in Toronto, let me know.

I would be interested in joining, although my participation would be limited to the Houston-Dallas-Austin triangle. I live in College Station, Texas (Yep, an Aggie), and am limited in ability to travel (My car is as old as I am, almost) .

That being said, there is a yearly convention in Houston (NanCon) and College Station (I don't know the name of it, I just go). I am sure Dallas and Austin have stuff too. If you can hit me with a few more details, I will be glad to formally commit. I need to know the specifics before I give my word on something.

I have been wargaming since 1963. As far as Matrrix Games go, I have WAW, Krosun Pocket, Normandy, and TAOW3. I haso have the (Talsonsft) Campaign Series as well as Battle of Britan and War over the Reich. Also War In Russia. Some games by other unnamed bad guys, but my favorite by far is TAOW3. Much more experience in turn-based than real time movement. Favorite Boardgame Advanced Third Reich.

An old post but if this is still a current muster, how does one know when and where said events take place so one can know if one can help out?

When is Michicon this year, Agrippa?
That's the first one I thought of when I saw this. All I know is that it is one of the biggest statewide cons in the nation and it is the original gaming con. It all started right here in Michigan.

I'm not going anywhere soon either for by the time origins comes, the price of gas will far exceed $4.00 a gallon!!!!
Who the hell has that kind of monet that they could travel over $300 miles to go to a convention. Sadly, this will probably be the first Origins I will have missed since 2001.

OT, but still: That's about 1/3 of the price on this side of the Atlantic.
