*EDIT* I need two more strings, please.
<s_4859 t="DOUBLECLICK_PLANNER_STRING" v="Double click opens planner"/>
<s_4860 t="DOUBLECLICK_PLANNER_HELP_STRING" v="Click here to make a double click open the attack planner"/>

I need help with translations! If possible, by about May 29, 2010.

I've attached a zip file with all the language files.

Chinese, Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiana, Polski.

I need a person or persons to please download and unzip the attacked file and upload a zipped xml file with the appropriate translations. I'll update this main post with the changes as they happen.

Around line 4879, there are some items that need to be translated.

These need to be edited with a program that understands UTF-8. One program that someone reccomended was NotePad++, it apparently has several laguage versions available.
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/

Most of the changes are around 4879, although there are a couple of editor specific changes later on, in the editor menu dealing with the new setting and the additional PO tracks.

I've re-organized the menu in the English version, I moved the Options(or view) menu into a separate high-level menu instead of a sub-menu under the other one. I also removed the 'Simple/Advanced' Option in favor of it being in the first options dialog.

Thanks in advance, and please post with any questions.

<s_4839 t="WITHDRAW_FORMATION_EFFECT_HELP" v="Do NOT use"/>
<s_4840 t="WITHDRAW_FORMATION_EFFECT_STRING" v="Do NOT use"/>
Not used
<s_4841 t="FORCE_ZOCCOST_TITLE_STRING" v="FORCE ZONE OF CONTROL"/>
<s_4842 t="CHANGE_FORCE_ZOCCOST_PROMPT" v="Please enter a force ZOC Percent cost (0%-1000%)."/>
<s_4843 t="ZOC_0_EVENT_EFFECT_HELP" v="Force 1 ZOC Cost level will be set at "value"%."/>
<s_4844 t="ZOC_1_EVENT_EFFECT_HELP" v="Force 2 ZOC Cost level will be set at "value"%."/>
<s_4845 t="ZOC_0_EVENT_EFFECT_STRING" v="ZOC Cost 1"/>
<s_4846 t="ZOC_1_EVENT_EFFECT_STRING" v="ZOC Cost 2"/>
<s_4847 t="ZOC_EVENT_GETINT_STRING" v="Please enter the force ZOC level (0-1000)."/>
<s_4848 t="ZOC_EVENT_INFO_STRING" v="Current force ZOC cost level:"/>
<s_4849 t="EVENT_EFFECT_ZOC_HELP" v="Click here to set the force ZOC cost value."/>
The editor can change the cost to move out of the ZOC of a unit to simulate more fluid conflicts.
<s_4850 t="GR_CONTRAST_STRING" v="Contrast Percent (0-1000)"/>
<s_4851 t="GR_CONTRAST_HELP_STRING" v="Click here to set Contrast Percent (0-1000)"/>
<s_4852 t="GR_BRIGHTNESS_STRING" v="Brightness Percent (0-1000)"/>
<s_4853 t="GR_BRIGHTNESS_HELP_STRING" v="Click here to set Brightness Percent (0-1000)"/>
Visual effects, I haven't played with them much.
<s_4854 t="ASSAULT_RATIO_STRING" v=" (AR=%d)"/>
The attack planner now shows a rough ratio of attacker strength to defender strength. Attacks below 100 will cause the defender to suffer fewer supply penalties. Attacks below 10% are more severe.
<s_4855 t="CLASSIC_OPTIONS" v="Classic Defaults"/>
<s_4856 t="MODERN_OPTIONS" v="Updated Defaults"/>
There are two UI defaults. I'll put up a post about the details of this.
<s_4857 t="MOVING_SELECTS_NEXT_UNIT_STRING" v="Moving selects next unit"/>
<s_4858 t="MOVING_SELECTS_NEXT_UNIT_HELP_STRING" v="Click here to select next unit in stack after moving"/>
In one of the movement modes (Updated Defaults) after moving a unit, the next unit in the stack will automatically be selected.

Sorry, I had a last minute request to add two more strings for the options screen.

<s_4859 t="DOUBLECLICK_PLANNER_STRING" v="Double click opens planner"/>
<s_4860 t="DOUBLECLICK_PLANNER_HELP_STRING" v="Click here to make a double click open the attack planner"/>

Something like this? I'm not particularly good with Spanish, but any translation is better than nothing, right?

I noticed that "badlands" was left untranslated; the proper term is abarrancamientos, I believe.

Note: All of my translations are marked with single asterisks. I didn't mess with acronyms such as AR, PO, and ZOC. I also marked those translations that are incomplete, or that I consider dubious, with double asterisks.

EDIT: Huh, all accented letters were deleted. Uhhh....

As of the 31st of May, I've got Chinese updates, German updates and Spanish updates.

I believe that the Chinese one is a partial update.

I'd appreciate it if anyone that can help takes a look at the files and udpates them if possible.

Thanks,
Ralph

I had already done some parts in a file I posted in a similar thread on gamesquad but I can copy those one in a couple of minutes.
I can do that tomorrow morning so you may have the file at about 12 GMT

Ok that's the Italian version of the file.

http://rapidshare.com/files/396639865/ItalianaGameText.xml.html

I have already added the two extra strings that were missing in the file you posted, with the corresponding italian translation.

I'm waiting for the patch release!!:)

Is there a need still for Polish?  I can also possibly come up with the French.

I may be able to come up with those translations, but it will take a few days.

You just want the equivalent text in those languages, correct?

Thanks Major. I've got French, all I'm missing is the Polish translations. Please let me know if you need any help. Most of the should be obvious by the variable name where they are used.

Ralph, did you forget to ask for the translation of

   s_4812 t="PNG_SUPPORT_STRING"
    s_4813 t="PNG_SUPPORT_HELP_STRING"

?

Under 3.2 and until this thread this was

s_4812 t="NEXT_OOB_ORDER_STRING"
s_4813 t="NEXT_OOB_ORDER_HELP_STRING"

It's still in the old translation at least in the new german, french and the italian files that have been posted here.

I guess, it's too late now...
