Hi,

Been trying to decide which scenario to use in starting a Campaign, and can't decide yet if I want to try 026/027 Babes Lite.
My current choices for me are either scn 001, 002 or 026.

There has been plenty of forums threads on 001 and 002 and the differences between the two, but very little is said on 026. Very little in the AAR forum, and not seeing much feedback other than some comments on the initial Babes thread.

Are people happy with it? Do people who play it, or have tickered with it, prefer 001 to 026 (or vice versa)? or are most simply waiting for DaBabes (or Babes Medium)?

Thanks.

Falken,

I am currently playing scenario 026 against maarten. He is the Allies, and I am Japan. Our game is going slowly, with one turn every two days, but that is what work and living in two very different time zones (Europe and Latina America) allows.

So far, I like DaBabes Lite much more than stock. The changes in small ships are very interesting to say the least. On Japan's side, the main points you might be interested in are:

- Only the To'su class can be converted to AMCs, and it is a one-way conversion.
- There are two new classes of xAKLs that you can eventually convert to PBs in '43 (Ha'chi xAKL & Kujira xAKL).
- There is also a new class of xAKLs that can't convert to another class (Ku'dai xAKL).
- There is a new YO class, which can be used to move oil from Shikuka to Honshu (Juyusen YO).

Of course, Lite does not have the changes that Medium will have (TO&E precision and de-aglomeration of composite support units), so when Medium comes out, I am seriously considering posting for a 2x2 Medium game... it sounds extremely intriguing. What it does have is that you can play either side against the AI, if that is you cup of tea (or to practive, even if it is not).

Hope the above nudges you into trying DaBabes. It is really good :)

Like Kitakami says, there's lots of cool stuff in it. Lots and lots and lots of cool stuff. Best I can say is about 200 people have downloaded Babes Lite and we haven't heard a single complaint.

Lite Scen026 = Stock Scen001 - Lite Scen027 = Stock Scen006. Babes Lite is what the stock scenario class and ship files should have been if the devs had time to work the OOB instead of working code issues.

It's the same as 001 or 006, but has lots more fun stuff. I think you might like it.

btw, most people consider it game-equivalent to stock, so they don't highlight the fact that it is a "Babes" scenario.

Thanks guys.

I guess my biggest worry was that with so much focus on the new DaBabes version, i'm antsy about starting the campaign, and if a new version of AE comes out, that support for it might be limited.

I would assume JWE that you would be too busy to maintain and support the new Babes version to be able to keep the other Lite one going in view of possible AE updates. I'm not a Mod editor, but based on reading your threads, the new version is keeping you pretty busy.

However, based on both your recommendations, and after re-reading (several times :) ) all the info about Lite in the current forums, i'll give it a shot tonight.

Thanks.

One issue I forot to post about and do not know if it has been corrected or not is that the scenario 27 starting date is incorrect. It should be 8 December 1941. The original file I downloaded had 7 December 1941 start date on it. Do not know if its been corrected but it is the easiest thing to fix in the editor
