What exactly do plants do ? Are they building components ? Then what exactly do yards do ?.. In the galactopedia, it is recommanded to build one of each types of plant for every yard. But default space ports come with only one for two yards... So, what should I do ? What does the "capacity" plant property mean ? Obviously, it helps building, and the higher the faster, but how does it work ?

Now, I'm no wiz at this game. But from what I understand:

The manufacturer takes resource units (steel n' that stuff) and make the actual components the ship is built up from, and the yard puts those pieces together. Exactly the math behind how fast this is done, and if there is any priority checks for the various components, is something I have no clue about.

Ex: I start building 4 escorts. I have 4 yards and 2 of each manufacturer. Do the 8 manufacturers start to make all components at the same time, are they made in some kind of order? When building ships, I haven't exactly devoted the time and effort to find out these small details. But, for optimization sake, it would be nice to know. How fast does the yard put components together? Is it based on component count, ship size or monetary cost?

Would be nifty to know. As of now, all we got to go from is the recommendation in the galactopedia and the basic spaceport prints. (which as Florestan pointed out, are not in unison about the matter)
