SUBJECT: ENEMY ENGAGE
DATE: JAN 30th, 1942.

Yesterday at afternoon we receive an incoming message from HIJMS CHITOSE AT KOEPANG reporting an enemy light cruiser 240 nm north-northwest of Timor Island. Decision to turn to south was taken at night and we are bearing 160, speed 15 with naval search air missions in 0-240 arc.

Radio message from HIJMS MYOKO Floatplane reported "two enemy warships 120 nm north of our positions, bearing 330, speed 12 knots", due poor visibility our aircraft can not report class or type.

Thinking in the posibility of a light cruiser was heading Soerabaja we launched an attack unit with 12 B5N2. One and half hour later our aircrafts reported two enemy minesweepers were sunk near Mataram island. These ships were identified like AMc Smeroe and AMc Merapi.

I am heading south, bearing 160 searching enemy light cruiser in the vecinity of Timor.

Long Live to the Emperor !!

Hi Traskott, for sure , but I will must to fight for Mandalay-Shwebo in the next month. I will probably need two month to get Indian frontiers (that I will no cross, it´s out of my target). I will need to improve my logistical support (garrison units, AA, Av.Support, Construction units to fortify as much as possible) to defend my conquests and keep them impenetrables

I took an eye on your AAR and I must to say you did an excellent work !.
Best wishes
ramón

Hi fremen !
I take borrowed from you when I played like allied.
It´s a good idea to avoid Palembang Coastal Defenses and save time to the future assault to North Java. A direct assault over Palembang is so risk. Soft enemy engineers is a must.
Light changes, I prefer to use all my paratroopers in this operation and backbone of XVI Army to land at Oosthaven (XVI Army, 38th I.D., 8th Tank Regiment, 19th & 20th Ind.Engineer Regiment, 10th Mnt Gun Reg, 20th Mnt Gun Bn, 4th Mortar Bn, 17th Medium F.A.Regiment and several support units -AA and AvSupport-). When Singapore and Palembang falls, a lot of them will be shipped to Java.
For the other hand, I prefer to support this ops with main body Combined Fleet.
Best wishes
ramón
