I have finally purchased this game. I intend to make a 1813 scenario, but I only have corps level OOBs for Germany. I read that the devs used OOBs from Nafziger? If WCS doesn't have any plans to make a 1813 scenario themselves, I would be grateful for any OOB information, both in Germany and in Spain (not familiar with Peninsular war at all...).

I'm now looking forward to many hours of gaming....

WCS has been very busy, I haven't even seen them around in the testing forum. Might be easiest if you sent a PM to get his attention.

Hi ptan--

We sometimes used Nafziger's OOBs.  Information about Spain was often taken from The Spanish Ulcer, which I strongly recommend.  It can take quite a bit of piecing together, however, but 1813 shouldn't be too hard, as the organizational picture improves after Salamanca.  There are tables in the back depicting the opposing forces at various dates and for various battles.  Sometimes the text needs to be referenced.

As for Germany, I don't know what your best source would be, but surely there must be some available.  There is an Osprey book on Lützen & Bautzen:

You could try Haythornthwaite for a start, but I don't have it on me right now.

For other nations and for the rest of Europe (Sweden, Ottomans, home garrisons), may I recommend our very own 1812 OOB as a base!  Believe me, an immense number of hours were spent putting it together, and it is probably of rather high quality.

I have a book I bought about 35 years ago ( yes, I'm an ole fart) called "Napoleon's Last Campaign in Germay 1813" by F. Loraine Petrie, a Brit? It's a very dry, detailed exam of the campaign. Many b & w maps w/unit locations on the battlefields. I would doubt you could find it in any small library but mine! West Point and Sandhurst a possibilty? If you are near Baltimore, MD I could share. I don't have a scanner so that's out.

Unfortunately I am based in Asia, which makes finding Nappy texts doubly difficult...thanks anyway.
