While you a have free moment from WitP or just want to play for a while something lighter and still about the Pacific struggle have a look at the latest Matrix release - Storm over the Pacific. More like a beer a pretzels game but deeper than many other TBS games about this theater (obliviously except WitP). Also have a look at discussion at the forum!

Also a lighter Pacific game is "War Plan Pacific" (Shrapnel Games). It is advertised to play from start to finish in three hours.

After WITP AE I am not touching anything that involves Pacific War and strategy. I would not enjoy any other game simple.

Well, but don't scare potential customers

Some people may prefer a light version of the War in the Pacific. To each his own taste.

Tulius would you buy another Pac war strategy game after playing AE ? What I would be real interested in is a Tactical Naval Simulator/Strategy game ala Fighting Steel after being updated by NWS or Jutland upgraded with modern ships. I bought Carriers at War as relaxing game so not to play AE all the time and I played it for a grand total of 3 times before removing it from my hard disk. AE has spoilt me.

BTW In september I will be going East by Rail just started to book everything.

I would assume that a rail trip out of Malta would be quite uncomfortable...

You mean the Transsiberian? You will be going to Irkutsk => Mongolia and then Beijing or to the Far East (Bloodyvostok) and then China?

I hope you enjoy it (as I did)

If you are a cheap bastard like me, you should use Hostelworld.com to find your hostels and book the room (or dorm) in advance. Lots of hostels, don't worry. If you need any advice, feel free to PM me

Matrix has published a demo of Storm over the Pacific. I think it is worth giving it a try and playing it for at least 5 minutes: http://www.matrixgames.com/news/691/Demo.Released.for.Storm.over.the.Pacific!
