I often prefer NATO symbols for ground units (i.e., infantry, armor, etc..), but miniature figurine graphics for planes and ships. I was wondering that if, in a future, patch, instead of a blanket on-off for these features, "selection by unit type" could be an option.

Thoughts?

I also support that suggestion!
NATO counters for detail where it's vital on the land units and sprites for the lesser quantity of detail on air/naval. Good mix, needs to be selectable.

Maybe not selection by unit, but we will try to prepare something.

Good to know. Maybe just by general unit types: Land, Sea, Air

I agree, I like the counters for land units and sprites for planes and ships.

Add my vote for this, and in addition Peter123's nato unit icons are the least intrusive on the beautiful map graphics and easiest to see. It seems using P123's format you could actually get 3 units into a tile and using a deployment management screen set them about a variety of tasks...like 1st line defense, reserve, etc. Good case for getting a garrison and a couple of air units onto an island also, lots of alternatives with "least"........simple, minimal...is usually better.
