This was one of my all time favorite games to play. It got even better when some guys introduced new models and updated the game through several upgrades. However, now I am in Vista and can't get it to work. Does anyone know of a similar type of game that can run in the Vista world?

Sorry, but I cannot suggest a similar game.

Did you try running it as an Administrator? Also, the compatibility modes may make a difference. Finally, do you have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?

This forum may be of help.

Good luck!

Depending on your tolerance for idiotic DRM and developer 'attitude' should you dare let it inconvenience you, Storm Eagle's Jutland and Distant Guns. The former is the best PC naval game ever written IMHO. Both games have demos so you aren't buying in the dark.

There are also these three from Totem Games if you like the time period:

Ironclads: Schleswig War 1864.
Ironclads: High Seas.
Ironclads: American Civil War.

All three have demos...

Hi showboat,

Have you tried to run it in WinXP sp 2 compatibility mode? If you need the instructions on how to do that, you may either google it or PM me. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've posted on how to do that on this forum sometime ago. You could do a forum search for that. It's very easy to do, and just may solve your problem.

Otherwise, I concur with the suggestions for Jutland, Distant Guns and the Ironclad games.
