You got it. We'll wait a few days and see if anyone else wants in, otherwise I'll take Western Allies and we can kick it off while fishing for Japan/SovUnion players.

Current private reports from the front suggest to me that in U2, it's too easy for JA to win by only having to keep CoProsperity Sphere 18 turns, but I'm hoping to get additional information soon before making any changes.

Let me know just before you're starting your new game and I will make the JA balance adjustment for U3 and you can use that version if you like.

Cool - I'll take SU/China, and will leave both Japan and Western Allies open for now, in case someone else comes in with a preference. If we don't get another player in the next day, I'll give Western Allies to 82ndtrooper and we can start it off while waiting for a Japan player.

So we have two options at this point:

DRommel - you could take both Germany and Japan
82ndtrooper takes Western Allies
ehzorg takes SU / China

- OR -

DRommel - Germany
82ndtrooper - Japan
ehzorg - Western Allies and SU / China

I'm certainly OK with playing Western Allies & SU/China. It all comes down to whether DRommel is willing to play both Japan/Germany or if he prefers only Germany.

I sent you guys private messages containing email addresses and asking about which sides you prefer.

Also, I sent a PM to explorer asking about the possible new revision:
quote:

You posted in my "Opponent's Wanted" thread regarding a possible revision to WaW which would include re-balancing for JA victory conditions? Thanks for offering and for being so pro-active in pushing out new versions. We're going to start the game within the next day probably, so if you have a new version, we'd love to try it.

One other bug I noticed while reading the forums - tweber reports from their AAR at ( http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/fb.asp?m=2502773 ) that Soviet Union production is set to 55% when the event which triggers Soviet Union awakening fires - regardless of the fact that they may already be at war with GE.

If I may shamelessly plug an idea of my own: have you considered making Ankara a tiny production center? Tiny as in the same size as New Zealand - or even just a small supply resource. Currently if Turkey gets invaded by GE, they have no option but to waste away to nothing after Istambul falls, since they have no other supply centers. Would be nice if Turkish forces could retreat into the mountainous center region and wage a guerilla war.

Thanks for the work you've done, we're all enjoying it immensely.

Japan taken by Von Dudert. Game will be starting as soon as DRommel gets to sending out turn 1.

One question - if someone were to have multiple games in progress using different versions of WaW Revised, is it safe to install the latest version of the scenario? Meaning, will it corrupt saved games from earlier versions of the game to install a later version?

I'm pretty sure the answer is: No, it won't mess with games in progress using previous scenario versions

But I wanted to ask before advising someone on the matter.

EDIT: Thinking about this a little more, it is reasonable to assume that there won't be a problem - as long as you leave the old .pt2 file in your \scenarios folder and copying the new \graphics content into place doesn't delete anything (which it doesn't).

Version U3 now completed and posted. Sorry it took longer than I had anticipated.

Changes:
Bug Fix: SU Production set to 100% now when SU starts war with GE before June 1941 if GE did not have adequate garrison
JA victory condition set to 24 turns instead of 18 (Event 38)
Turkish capitol Ankara now able to produce supply and PP.
San Francisco & L.A. get 5 Flak Immobile I
Pacific Map changed to more accurately simulate importance of Guadalcanal for supply of Australia

I would strongly recommend starting game with this new version. JA needing to keep victory points for 24 turns and new supply route for Australia should have a strong effect on overall game play in the Pacific.
