I recently ran across a supernova system. It frankly doesn't look right to me. Please take a look and comment.

The screen shot of this supernova looks right to me. The shaded circle in the center is the sweet spot for building research stations. I receive the most points for construction in that area. Any ship or station within the glowing area will have a large reduction in shielding. Someone please correct my information, if needed.

Hrmm, ok. The glowing just didn't look very much like a supernova to me...not that I've seen one. I thought I had a animation problem. Thanks for the information.

I agree that it could use some sprucing up.

This is indeed a design aspect, not an animation bug. Elliot or Erik confirmed this with me a few months back on another post.

People normally cannot see supernovas at all because they are outside of the visible spectrum, and they would realistically be instantly fatal to anyone viewing them at a range and time they emit visibly. Being irradiated with gamma rays and x-rays is bad for your health. The present art conveys the distinct unhealthfulness of being there.

That probably is all true. I dunno, sounds good. I'd still like to have a better graphic, possibly like a nebeula cloud.
