Here is some strangeness for you.

I have three nell units based at Takao. These are all units that started the scenario as Nells. The scenario is #1, the grand campaign. I am playing PBEM against Traskott.

For clarification, I have the last official patch but I have not installed the recent beta patches, including the most recent one that had the carrier unit resize bug.

I am running version 1.03.1102aa

The second nell unit does not have this.

So tell me, can I resize these units to fit ship and do the Japanese equivalent of the Doolittle raid off the deck of the Shokaku?

Check to see whether their upgrade path allows them to upgrade to a carrier capable model.

A group is allowed to re-size if it is a carrier-type or float plane or the group has a sizing path.
Otherwise the option is turned off.

Some combination must have re-enabled sizing on those groups as they look like they should have been permanently non-sizable.

Loaded up scenario #1 and can see why.
Genzan starts with a detachment which changes size. So the detachment has the re-size option.
However, if you merge the detachment back into the parent, the parent suddenly gets the sizing option turned on. Even if it was off to start with.
Re-sizing was really created for ship groups, but was expanded to cover all groups. (No resize - Resize to fit ship)
I can see I didn't actually cater for all possibilities.

I could stop the option from appearing on land groups, but then ship-based groups that are pulled back to land would lose the ability to have this option turned on/off.
I will need to give it some thought how to do so without affecting those that should be able to, but it is unlikely this will be fixed for patch 04 though.

Also noticed that when splitting a group up that can resize, the parent sizing data is turned off when it is rebuilt.
