Hey guys I hope you can help me on this.
I tried to use tracker for a new game vs. the AI (2day turns, so it should be order entry phase of turn 5 now) and ran into a strange problem: Even after I deleted the complete folder and unzipped tracker to get a plain new version I get the error message: "turn 5 is already loaded"
Turn 5 of the new game is the first one I am trying to load. Save slot is the same as my old game was before.
When I check the current turns in tracker it shows the first turn I loaded of my old game. Is there some data file not located in the tracker folder that I need to delete?

I think you'd better double check what you're doing, are you using a shortcut to the batch file? I'd try again ... BTW the DB can be deleted by deleting all the trackerdb*. files.

Thanks Damian, will do after work.
I have my doubts though, because as I said I deleted the whole witp tracker folder and extracted the recent version to have a clean one. I´m using a shortcut for the savegame folder but tracker is located directly on the desktop.
Deleting the tracker.db files was my first try. Did not work either. I wonder if there is still some other file hidden somewhere...

Damian,
When opening up Task Forces in Tracker which then shows details of each vessel in the TF , I notice that the speed column in every case shows 0 (zero) as the speed of the ship. Is this a limitation of Tracker ? If the speed of the ships is always going to be shown as 0 then is the speed column superfluous to requirements ?

David, we've had problems with that in the past, due to the speed no being written correctly to the save file. I'll have another look, there is a way to get around it but low priority right now. Thanks for the feedback/bug report
It says Xms384m Xmx512m. Since I'm rather illiterate regarding Java, how can I fix that?
It's in the witptracker.bat file... right click and edit the file... change the numbers - don't go too high otherwise you'll probably get a storage space error message. You should increase by multiples of 128..so 384,512,640 etc.
-Xms initial java heap size -Xmx maximum java heap size
Use my settings and see if it makes a difference...

No error, it just takes forever to load, or it just stalls. The funny thing is that I used to run it on this computer without any problems, with 100+ turns loaded. Now I can't even get it to start. Could it be my memory failing?

Try a new tracker install and load a turn ... see if it works. I doubt your memory is failing, what I think more possible is that resident programs loaded at startup might be taking some of it... use msconfig from run command and see what's happening.
Sorry I can't be of more help. Java can be a pain sometimes.
I'm having similar probelm as BBW. I've added about 80 turns. Here's the weird part.
I do a clean install, start adding turns, I can add 100 turns (all I have now in this game). I do a clean install, add 50 turns. Close. Re-start. Try to add more turns. Won't add any. There are error messages, and i will try to grab next time I do this. My current work around is to "re-do" tracker every 20 turns. Real pain, but I NEED the data!!! However, it does take a long time to add in +100 turns.

I have 126 turns loaded on my longest game and have no real problems. It takes about 120 seconds to load but that is fine. I am using -Xms384m -Xmx512m for memory switches.

Damian, thanks for your response.
One should exchange a 1 with a 0 and be happy with the result. Sorry for bothering, I guess this "issue" has been identified and is located between the chair and the screen...

Really weird.
yeah, I'd need to see the error messages.
As requested. Appreciate and insight or help. Great tool. THANKS!!!

Looks to me like your PC ran out of memory. I don't think changing the command line to allocate more memory would help, since I think it can't get even what you asked for.
I just noticed some thing that left me wondering. When comparing daily air losses from intel screen in game vs those in the VP section of tracker there is a markedly difference in lost enemy aircrafts. Own are the same.
I wonder why? how does tracker generate its numbers? Do tracker use numbers less influenced by FoW or whats up?
Now that we are at it the sunken ship section is very diffent too. I only show 2 own ships sunk while in fact many more has been sunk and even admitted. What gives?
My Tracker seems to be working, but I am getting a lot of JAVA dialogue in the CMD prompt window. Here it is - I am running on a MacBook Pro using Bootcamp. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong.

There is some FoW involved here. We haven't been able to determine how the game itself fiddles with the counts, but the totals should be the same.

Kind regards,

That isn't right - your side's ships should all be reported. I've seen cases where you need to choose some of the filter menus a few times before the table updates properly. If that's not it, send me a save and I'll take a look.
