There are crocodiles and/or alligators (i.e. whatever lives in the Everglades) on the right side of the bank... I would not want to move to the side of the road with them there...

Apparently MGM canceled James Bond 007 forever... they simply don't have money to make it...

They should sell the rights to someone who does.

Someone who would make Bond cool again.

I've enjoyed the two most recent 007 movies with Daniel Craig as Bond more than ever.

I sure hope it's a temporary setback.

We (my wife and I) did too!

We think that the last two bonds are very good and almost on par with Sean Connery in the 1960's...

forever ? why not just make it when they got afford to?

I hope it's temporary but one never knows... it even might be for good...

BTW, those movies are expensive to make - the "Quantum of Solace" cost about 200 million $ - but it eventually earned 550+ million $.

Perhaps they simply can't find the bank to finance 200 - 300 million $ and wait until movie pays off...

I heard Quantum of Solace was terrible but I did enjoy Casino Royale, I still think Dr. No is the best one out of all of them.

Quantum of Solace was not as good as Casino Royale, IMO. Too whiz-bang, run run, action for the sake of action, hurry hurry, no time for plot development. Casino Royale did a nice job of staying close to the original novel (novel! ) and showed a very human element of James Bond.

Bleak future apparently...

On 19 April 2010, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson of EON Productions announced that because of MGM's financial troubles, production of Bond 23 was suspended "indefinitely" and was therefore shelved for the time being.

Mendes has, however, not left his contract and still intends to direct the film once the MGM situation is resolved.

However, on 4 July 2010, it was announced that the 23rd Bond had been axed completely. A statement from EON said "We do not know when development will resume and cannot comment further at this stage.".

I know that intersection. There are actually two left turns----one hard left and the other "leftish". It's across from the backside of the Lincoln monument, near the DC WW1 memorial. (By the tidal pool.).

Space 1999 was a terrible show

Bite your tonque.

It was an AWESOME show.

Bell bottom uniforms........analog clocks.....B/W television screens...comlocks and those sexy Eagles that sounded like Jet airliners when they took off. ooooooo. Got the whole shabang on DVD. Do have to admit though that Season two is a bit of an embarrasement as an adult. As a kid though i was hoodwinked by the sexy alien babe and the laser guns. Season one though was classic.....some episodes were downright creepy.

Kirk vs. Koneig.

who would win? too much testosterone for one command center.

If you'll notice, they are heading into the water , away from the photographer. Bruce is absolutely right! The only gators you really have to worry about are injured or crippled ones that can't hunt. They tend to hang around docks and places that cattle use to water. That's why every Florida community has a pond with a fountain with ducks in it. (They need the pond because the water table is too high to keep fire hydrants working right---the fountain is to prevent mosquitos from breeding). The ducks are a "gator early waring system". (Every night you count the ducks, when some go missing, you call the wildlife people!)!

Unfortunately the Metro doesn't go everywhere...... If you live in DC , sometime, somehow, you are going to have to drive. And it's not as bad as other big cities....Boston and NYC come to mind. DC drivers aren't as agressive, just a whole lot less competant! Almost (but not quite!) as bad as Seattle!

Don't open your closet tonight.......there might be a one eyed monster with tenticles in it.

I have fragmentary memories of UFO. I'll be Netflixing it soon! All i really remember are:

1) The one shot "space fighters" with their fat nose missiles
2) an orbiting space station with a big radar
3) Purple wigs
4) spinning "classic" UFO spaceships that would later make a cameo appearance in the Atari 2600 version of "Asteroids"

Daniel Craig was rather two dimensional to me. He got the "ruthless" part down, which put closest to the early Connery portrayls but did not have the swagger and smooth moves of Connery or the suave (if at times campy) coolness of Brosnon and Moore. That lost the Bond distinctiveness for me and the GF unit. Craig's "Bond" became just another faceless tough guy action hero in the 2000's mode.

He was better than Dalton though.

My ranking

1) Roger Moore
2) Pierce Brosnan
3) Shaun Connery
4) Daniel Craig
5) Timothy Dalton

I have not seen the Lazenby Bond film in so many years that i can't really rank him. One of these weekends. To be fair to Dalton, he was the victim of the "PC era Bond" so that and the poor scripts colors his performance. Another dig against him is that Brosnan was the better choice from day one but of course the tradegy of it all was that he was under contract to NBC at the time so could not accept the role, so Dalton was the essentially the "runner up" Bond from the get go.

Oh well....it could have been worse....say Kevin Costner with a horrible fake British accent. eek!
