Most Jap weaknesses are well programmed in this game and maybe some units and weapon types are too efficient. - What was established in 42-43 was that even 4Es could not challenge enemy air space without escorts when facing numerous enemy fighters. Medium bombers sometimes turn back when sent in without escorts, 4E's don't. 6 Forts against 25 fighters ends up with no kills time and time again. They suck up some damage, fly on to the target - bomb it and then RTB. Well, it's good to know what we have to expect. Afraid it will be very very tough to prevent B-29s from doing whatever they want, even without escorts. Three incidents made the well planned evacuation of Zone 3 into a nightmare: 1. The Rockhampton garrison becoming stranded because of an hitherto unknown rail movement functionality. 2. A movement error by Andy's troops, moving them into Charters Towers which triggered Andy to use all his heavy bombers to close it down. 3. The unknown invisibility and uber abilities of Allied 4Es. 150 can shut down any base despite having the strongest defense. - I don't think even Andy knew they were this uber, if he had they had been used much earlier. The next 7-10 turns will be hard, cleaning up such a mess takes a lot of time and doesn't up morale much. I will evacuate as much I can with as little losses as possible and make up tally when its all over. Going to come up with something truly nasty to avenge this AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Sep 29, 42 Surface Combat The PT boats without fuel caused immense chaos today, forcing a TF loading troops to cancel and head out.
