This is cool. Hope the thing makes it to a museum nearby.

Sounds like 1) a government "make-work" job. or 2) someone in charge is a former drill instructor!

I dont suppose incompetence is an option?

It's mandatory!

I was in town , yes. Did I get to see them? Alas no.I also missed the "testical festival". So I'm holding out for the Nebraska and Iowa state fairs. Tractor pulls baby!

If you get to the western part of the state Scott's Bluff National Monument is worth checking out. Oregon trail history etc... Register Cliff is in that neck of the woods as well. You can really get an appreciation of what the western pioneers experienced on their way to Oregon. In some places you can still stand in the ruts left by the wagon wheels headed west. Who says I don't know how to have a good time?

They do, and by the hour. That's the only upside (for them).

For summer work for young guns, that's usually enough. I've quite the laundry list of sh** summer jobs that I did just for a summer paycheck-I suspect most of us have. It builds character and all that rubbish.

Dude! Youre from Palisades. Your crap jobs involved lattes.

DUDE. I've swung a sledge on construction sites for summers in college. I've done clerical work. I've stocked shelves in supermarkets for Keebler. I've moved furniture. I've delivered newspapers. And, my number one crappy summer job is reserved for barroom conversation. It'll cost you two beers to extract that one outta me. Maybe Steve will do this this summer.

Hey, man. I'm hearing a lot of judgement here. You need to embrace the cultural norms of your new home, homey. Live the tractor pulls, dream about 'testicle festivals'.

its worse when you apply for a job....get a rejection email 24 hours later telling you that you are not suitible, then log back onto the job website the next day and find a fresh posting....by that same company for the same job they just told you you were not being considered for....thus eliminating the feel good excuse that "well maybe they already filled the position...."

Makes one feel real competant.

You're not in the Chicago area are you?

Well, I ducked and I weaved and I sweated and I whined and it looks like I've put my little situation here at work back on track.

Just one thing: we can now no longer use the word "files" as it applies to patient-related paperwork. It's now called "strawberries".

Strawberries? Does the term huckleberry have any medical relevance?

What's the reason for the code word for files? Or is there a reason?
