I don't know if it's just me, or if it's like this for everyone. When I am in a space battle and turn turbo on with F9, It only gets, at best, 25% faster. And to do so, it makes the battles look horrible. Isn't it supposed to significantly increase battle time?

I'd really like the ability to simply press a button to auto-resolve battles. a CPU should be able finish any space battle in a heartbeat if it's not drawing graphics or waiting to show the human player a good show.

So combining my turbo problem above, and the fact I don't want to "auto" a battle from the starmap screen (like if I want to save my 10 ship fleet from suicide attacking, and instead retreat them at the earliest opportunity), I end up wasting 5 minutes of time to simply let the computer entertain... nobody.

It's gotten to the point where I'll let small fleets auto and die, when they should be saved, simply so that I don't have to waste 5 minutes of my time. That's a BAD game mechanic, and really kills replayability of the game. Right now, Armada is fresh and new and its worth waiting for worthless battles, but a few weeks from now that may not be the case and I'd move on to another game.

There is a bug in the latest version of the game that makes the battles run slowly. However, it's easily fixed by just alt tabbing out of the game and back in. It'll be fixed in the next update that'll be along in a week or two.
