Indeed not forgotten. One wonders if the Polish Government in excile could've pulled it off with the red army so close. But then Katyn Forest comes to mind.

Stalin allways have own plans, conflicting with plans of thier allies. He have no intention to give any chance of creating not pro-commies in his future sphere of infulence.

Betraying Poles in Warsaw uprisongh is one case.

And don't forget those Poles killed fighting from 45 to 47 against Communist rule, roughly 30,000 iirc.

I'm always amazed by the gall of the people who accuse Soviets of duplicity for (alleged) unwillingness to sacrifice their men in support of the plan which entire purpose was "double-cross Soviets".
