Have an issue that is just baffling and perhaps someone can shed some light on it for me. The issue concerns fighter pilots at PH. No matter what I try I cannot seem to raise the morale for these pilots. Of the fighter squadrons stationed there all have morale in the 39 to 49 range. Meanwhile just about all the bomber squadrons have morale og 80+ with quite a few at 99.

I have tried all training (60-70), mixture of cap, training, rest, (30/30/30) and have even stood them down and still morale will not rise. These units are in the 50ish experience range and none have excessive fatigue. At most fatigue is running at 10 to 15.

Squadron commanders are a mixed bag but decent at least. To give you an example, I have a squadron of 24 Mohawks. The commander is
Leadership 61
Inspiration 60
Admin 53
Aggression 56
Naval 17
Air 63
Land 38

Unit experience 49
Morale 39
Fatigue 11

Currently on 30 cap, 30 train, 30 rest although I have stood this unit down and morale still stayed at 39.

Fighter pilots elsewhere, namely everywhere in fact do not have this morale issue. This is only happening at PH. So what gives?
Are they allergic to sun, sand, and hula girls?

Standing down should improve morale, strange if it doesn't. PH airbase is not under attack, I presume?

Once pilot morale gets trashed I have found that standing down the group is the only way to recover.

Yes, try standing them down, and leaving them that way for several days.  Once fatigue gets down to 0, you should see the morale start to improve.

The most sure fire way to raise morale is not resting, but killing. If a unit does not suffer too many casualties and inflicts a number of losses on the enemy, you are going to see a morale boost.

Thanks for the advice guys. Perhaps I was not leaving them stood down long enough. Morale does seem to be rising and at least all units are 50+ in morale now.

It varies how long it takes, but you will at some point see morale rise by a bunch of points per turn. Before then, it will seems like it just hovers around the same value.
