He seemed to want to exclude them from most prominent combat areas.

Just curious if they should be excluded from this scenario.

Honest answer probably but with the loss of Soviet Manchuria and those troops air forces I added a small Australian Corps to act as floating reserve to try and balance it

Speaking of Sovs, you have any plans to let the Godless Communists play? I mean, Uncle Joe was an acquisitive sort and had a score to settle with the LYBs. Don't think he would be content to suck down his vodka, nibble on his pirozhki, and let the US do all the heavy lifting. We gave them the assets and them tank armies would be a stone witch cruising the Kanto.

I thought about it but if you include the Soviets it becomes more an Autumn Storm Scenario or basically a full map 45 start so I decided early doors to exclude the Soviets it was just easier all round

Were the graphic issues related to Buccaneer sorted out, ie missing plane art?

I think the basic issue with the missing art was that the first plane image had to be used in the game, otherwise plane images were not loaded.

This fixed in patch 03 (IIRC - build 1105) by forcing the very first image to remain loaded.

Andy, you are much too modest!

Downfall v4 has lots of improvements besides fixing “RAAF”. I’ve just spent an hour or three getting it set up and noticed a big bunch of improvements. I’m sure there are lots more that I haven’t noticed yet. Well improvements for the Allies. I expect there are nice things for the Japs too.

There are still some weird things in it. The anoying ones I've spotted so far.

Player Defined Upgrades should very defiantly be set ON. VMF-211 is set to upgrade to F2A-3 Buffalo. There are even 8 of them left in the pool. Some other units have less drastic upgrade weirdness.

There are still some Allied units in lonely places with no or few supplies.

Thanks Again for all the work. We know that it's a labor of love - lots and Lots and LOTS of labor!

Just curious if they should be excluded from this scenario.

According to British Invasion Fleets, there was an Aussie force (division?) earmarked for Coronet, in Commonwealth terms Force A, they would have left from Brunei using ships that had taken part in Op Zipper.

I'm pretty sure it was the 10th Australian Infantry Division according to 'High Command: Australia and Allied Strategy 1939–1945' by David Horner. MacArthur apparently favored having only 1 Commonwealth Division take part, but at the Potsdam conference MacArthur was pressured by Roosevelt to allow 3 Commonwealth divisions be included as part of a single corps, in the name of allied diplomacy. So the Commonwealth Corps was created, consisting of the existing British 3rd Infantry Division and newly formed/reformed 6th Canadian Infantry Division and 10th Australian Infantry division, plus two NZ brigades, but all of which would use US Army equipment in order to utilize US Army logistics, as that was MacArthur's main argument against involving the Commonwealth troops (apart from him not liking the Australians).

PS Thanks for the great Scenario Andy.

Took the liberty of going through the thread here; getting the scenarios and rehosted them at my site:

Link

Also created scenario artwork for Buccanner, Marianas, and Downfall so they'd fit in better with stock scenarios.

Andy,

If I wanted to take one of your Ironman's to Dec 8 ... say Ironman allied.  What would be the easiest way to do that?  Is there an easy way?

Appreciate whatever insight you can share.  Thanks.
