What is attack overmatch in the empire settings in the new update? What do the different options mean and which one should I use?
Apologies if this explained somewhere else already, but I couldn't find it with the search function on this forum.

As near as I can tell it will send an amount of firepower equal to the attack overmatch vs any threats. In older version it would send your whole fleet to take down one escort now if an escort with firepower 40 shows up it'll send 80 firepower to take it down (assuming you have it on 2:1 overmatch).

Thanks, I also found something in a beta thread. Perhaps Elliot should list the changes in the new update in the official thread, so people now what has been changed with the new patch. More importantly, the galactopedia and the manual will need some revisions.
