Are you annoyed with the direction the Thread has taken, or having a bad day?

Ya know...logic would dictate that not getting involved in threads would be greatly aided by not reading said threads.......

Logic has nothing do with it. I saw a Worthy
opponent....I assumed he was looking for one. UNTIL I read it. That's the problem, you often don't know what your reading till you've read it. And at least I never read the general threads.

Brother Brush-hat, you forget the appeal of tilting at windmills. I have resisted posting in that arena but confess to rubbernecking the car wreck in process. Moth like even the best of us has suffered from self immolation

OK, back to my spreadsheet hell.

All true, but sometimes the tilting is an emotional response. You don't know why you hate the windmills, but you do. Logic has nothing to do with it. Sometimes we just can't help it.

Well, maybe it's a difference in nature. I just rarely have emotional responses to things. When I do, the brain kicks in and says "stop that crap!"

I understand people are different. And maybe us Martians are even more different.

But we'd all do well to put the brain in gear before the emotions take hold. Save a lot of grief in this world.

Notions are but decisions waiting for the will to make them.

Nonsense. Emotions are what make us human. Denying their existance or their emotive pull on our psyche is to deny our makeup. Yielding to an actuarial existence devoid of arts, love, laughter, emotion is not one that I desire. YMMV, of course.

I'm not denying them by any means. But we are not and SHOULD not be their slaves. They should not drive us.

They exist to give us joy, not to define us.

... and now it's just a few hours left until I expect to hear the rumblings of a sonic boom in a southwesterly direction, some 400 miles away.

Happy almost vacation, T!

I wonder how long it will take the sonic boom to reach the US East Coast?  I could do some math, but it's Friday.
