There was also a project, albeit it was supposedly intended to be run by a "Game Master" (much like the good old Dungeon Master I guess) that prepared for the players. If I remember correctly, the high level game was done using TOAW (I or II at that time) and the lower level air and sea combat was done with Harpoon. Can't remember what they intended to use for ground combat. I don't think they got very far with the workload involved in manually linking all this stuff etc, but the idea was interesting. The idea of having an actual computer system that would be AT/TOAW for the grand scale ground operations, but with leaders of course, HoI style production and research, WitP for the fleets, Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich for Air Ops, and then it zooms into Harpoon and Battle for the Bulge to resolve the actual combat is great, and a grognards perverse dream! If it would actually be possible / enjoyable to play is another question. I guess WWII Online in some respect addressed this with their High Command guiding the lower level operations in a sense, but compared to what we are talking about here, that was more of a beer and pretzel approach.
