Hi,
First, sorry for my poor english, but I'm a frenchman...!!

Like in WITP (1st edition), the chance of operational damage for ships is 1/90 for Cruise Speed and 5/90 for Full Speed ?
In Cold Zone in winter, the chance is 2/90 for Cruise Speed et 10/90 for Full Speed ?
Again like WITP (1st edition), when a ship take a Critical Hit, the chance of total destruction is 4 % ?

Thank you !!

Not published, so dont know for sure

Operational damage is almost certainly different, because the entire damage and repair system is revamped. The chance of critical hit does not neccisarily mean a ship automatically sinks. Could be extra damage too. There is extra operational damage for cold weather ship actions.

Sorry cant be more helpful.

It has never prevented English-speakers from speaking their language poorly. Why do you think you deserve an excuse?

[Your command of Enlish is just fine. ]

I'm just sorry that I do not have the answer to your actual question.

Thanks for your replies ! But, I assure you, I speak very bad english ; luckily, I read it better, otherwise I could not play to WITP:AE !!

Then, just a clarification :

The manual says that the damages were operating five times more likely to occur at full speed to cruise speed ; the manual also says that Cold Zone in winter, the damage twice as likely to occur at normal rate.
So, logically, in a Cold Zone in winter, the likelihood of damage should be as follows : two times at normal speed and ten times at full speed. Do you think this is correct ?

Thank you in advance

Emile

The calculations are completely different in AE.

Ships moving in a cold zone are still twice as likely to be damaged. The speed setting (cruise, mission, full) is restructured to increase the chances of damage at full speed and decrease them at cruise speed. Mission speed is somewhere in between.

In addition, AE has implemented an adjustor based on type of ship. A battleship at sea is less likely to be damaged than a PT, for instance.

I do not recall is these calculations are in the manual. If not, I do not fell that I can detail them here.

Thanks for the reply

I see that the system is more complicated than I imagined and I had not seen the nuance introduced by the Mission speed or by categories of ships.

I will confirm, these parameters are not detailed in the manual.

These are of course details that do not prevent play ; I am just trying to write an handbook, first for me to understand the mechanics of the game... Hence my questions...

"I do not fell that I can detail them here" : is it a secret ?

It is Matrix/developer policy, that developers will not disclose formulas used in game. That is probably the reason.

Double top secret. The only way to gain the secret (and the secret handshake and magic decoder ring) is to buy Don several bottles of extremely expensive single malt scotch. And then no promises!

It is therefore a secret...
We, the poor players in shorts, we will never wear out exactly why our ships when they move ! It's not very serious, the key is to know that it depends on the speed and class of vessels

As for the whiskey, I do not Scottish but next door to me, I know a French producer of whiskey, very good addition, so ... maybe !!!

Thanks !!

When offering a bribe , if you can't pay "the standard", you should be very carefully of substitution of a product of unknown value. While I'm sure French whiskey is very fine, it's not really known outside of France. May I suggest a couple of bottles of your VERY well known , in fact one could say RENOWN Cognac?
