1.0.6.0 was amazing, but sadly (??) it only made me even more excited about what other upcoming patches you have in your sleeves.

Never giving you any rest! Whats next for DW? In terms of the next few weeks. Any more patches? Whats being worked on besides the elusive expansion (which prolly is still far off)? More mod support? More galaxy shapes? More features?

N......no...nothing?

Right now it has been relatively quiet from the publisher and devs. So I imagine they are taking a hard earned break.

I imagine they are quiet because the Addon is a lot of work.  I'm not confident we'll see anymore patches before the addon, but hopefully I will be proved wrong, as I was hoping for a modders patch that would allow Hivemind and Merchant Guild to be used by custom races.

I believe when they announced the addon they said "end of this year", which means, they have a lot of work to do I for one am really looking forward to the addon and wouldn't want them to be distracted by anything else (except special govs for custom races please )

I'd also like to see this elusive mythical "mod patch" released rather soon, so we can have some neat mods out before the addon. Mods take some time to create and polish too, the longer the mod community is delayed the more inactive it will be once the tools finally arrive :/

hopefully the dev is taking some time to look at .NET framework 4, and learning some of it's promising features, and seeing if DW can benefit from any of it.

whilst he's on his break....LOL,

or maybe he's working on something that requires a lot more time then the average changes we've seen so far in his codebase,

or maybe it's...... no i won't jinx it (anagram then) "Scramble openfin"

I'd still really like to see the "unable to upgrade space stations away from your colonies" problem fixed/addressed, but otherwise I agree that a modding patch/update is probably in order.

They promised to update the manual and the galactopedia with the changes from the patches. I think they need to do at least that to have a finished stand a lone game before they consider creating the expansion.

Obviously I'm hoping the next patch will open up the modability of the game.

Yeah I'd like some feedback from Erik or Eliot on this as well. It's the big unknown right now.
Will we even get another patch before the expansion?

I think he's probably staying away from the forums so as not to get overloaded with new ideas when he's already got plenty to do right now. Sometimes you just have to get your head down and work with what you've got. Having people constantly coming up with new ideas when you've already got lots to do is not ideal nor healthy for your stress levels. The wish lists aren't going anywhere, he'll still read through them.

Hi Baleur and others who are wondering what Elliot is up to.
We are busy working on expansion work with significant new features and improvements.

Thanks

Hmm, the force is strong in this one. Luke, step into the light, show yourself. Are you and Elliot twins, from the photo you look very similar.

It is also rumored that they rarely shower, spend most of their time in dark caves full of electronic devices, and live on a diet of coffee and twinkies.

You started something Baleur...hehehe.

Don't forget pizzas and energy drinks! Mmmmmm... pizzas.

Seriously though, I hope there's some kind of robotic race or two in the expansion. I've always been fascinated by cybernetics, implants, AI and robotics.

Could you imagine, if a robotic race was introduced, what planet type would be most suitable for them? Barren, with alot of metals and stuff right?
Then they could colonize most of the planets in the galaxy
And replicate, they did..

And I really, really hope that developers will find out and correct "disappearing message rows" bug, because now I have to quit playing DW because of that bug. I have played about four months now, many, many games, and haven't ended a single game (except those I have lost) as 'normal' way. This is sad, because I really like this game.

I'll try again after next patch (if there will be any).

Wenla: I've had that bug happen to me also, and I have always just been able to reload the game and get the messages to "flow" once again...

Ill admit i havent played long enough to get that bug, i pretty much always start over once the entire galaxy is explored (i get so confused by all the cris-crossing empire lines and intermingling borders, thats the only thing i really dislike).
Love the beginning and midgame when its more like "this is my space, that is yours, FU if you trespass".

I also quit the game when the galaxy is fully explored because of the confusion in late game. I also hope the developer will have a better way to consolidate empire holdings so that we have a clear border between empire.

Some odd habits people have. Ending games before the end.
I actually like the current territory system. It keeps you on your toes and forces you to think what you are going to defend heavily and where to attack decisively. "He who defends everything defends nothing". The border system would just favour heavy defence camping. Also, I've never had any problems figuring things out when looking at the galaxy.
Guess it's just apples and oranges. I personally don't have any serious problems with the current territory system. Space is a friggin' big place. You just can't own empty space in there.

I also have done this many times when empires start mingling amongst each other. It's not really believable that they would happily live in that state of chaos, nor does it help my sanity trying to keep others out of my territory.

Reducing the quality of planets to minimum does decrease the potential maximum size of Empires greatly.  I would guess this would make things less chaotic late game.  I prefer to play this way anyway, but for those who don't, it could still be a temporary fix for the late game chaos.

I don't really mind if the territory system gets borders also. If it's going to happen, I just hope that they don't scrap the current system completely.
