Thanks for all the good wishes Brothers. Since there are so many pet owners, vets and their hangers on I'll share the outcome. My cat had been suffering from reduced kidney function for about a year. We treated this with frequent sub cu Normasol injections. This last round with the vets added a heart murmur that was identified as Hypertrophic Myopathy. The kidney showed deformation and stones were found. Given all this we helped our old friend into Cat Valhalla. At the moment I am at peace and toasting my friend with a dram of single malt.

My wife (who lurks The Thread) and I thank you all for allowing us to share.

-John

PS. A thanks to all Veterinarians out there. It is so rare that I've met a bad one that I feel the field, in general, blessed.

John,

Sounds like you both did the right thing. Old cats with kidney disease are one thing. Old cats with simultaneous kidney disease AND additive heart disease are quite another. Basically, the treatment for the one is counterproductive for the other problem. We've had two cats with these classic 'old cat diseases'. It's a fast spiral down for them when they can no longer compensate.

Appreciate the nice comment about our profession too. Thanks for the kind words.

A very leisurely morning , ebelskievers and coffee ala fresco on our patio, watching the wild life and air show planes go by. Then champagne and kirs. More airplanes. A "Zero" (one of the Tora,Tora,Tora converts) a TBF (real low level) a C-130, a flight of six T-28's, an OV-10a, a low level B-25, and in the distance chasing a AT-6 was the P-38. Even my wife I'd that one (It and the SR-71 are her favorite planes). A biplane towing a glider and several "new" biplanes have also made their appearances. No jets yet. Tomorrow the air show up front. I'll try and get photo's.

This afternoon, spending money (shopping in the "Old Market") and trying to find a good sushi restaurant 1200 miles from ocean!

Don't hate me Andre! Or at least take it out on me in our PBEM!

I've just got a game of VG's Hells Highway tomorrow. Joy.

Isn't that about Market Garden? Wouldn't think the British would want to relive that one much.

I'd better hide those Kasserine games then.

I rarely play the American side in games. I prefer playing the bad guys.

So you would play the Brits?

ETA: KIDDING!

Not at Kasserine, no...I would play the Germans.

In Market Garden too.....

I did like playing the Amis in Victory Games Vietnam. What a great game....too bad it is so hard to find opponents.

I loved that game.

In that case, it's not arrived. The last one I've got was sent on the 27th at 1700. It's not in my junk folder either.

It’s unpleasantly like being drunk.

Tonight's login word (apropos): CUUCAT...

Either way, for Chickenboy, I DID play Mafia I. Mafia II has limited replayability, since the story is very linear, but it is so fantastically well told and oozing atmosphere from every pore, that it's not really an issue.

Hello.

Doing a big great circle thru the US in a couple weeks. Going outward is for family matters and will get to visit Elf in TX and perhaps TomLabel in AL. Coming back is business and will go to DC, then to St Louis, then Colorado Springs, and on to Mojave. Can open up the return schedule by an extra day at St Louis or the Springs. Wouldn't mind catching my breath and having a beer and talkin about stuff utterly unrelated to work. Anybody close? It's in 2 weeks.

I live just North of White Bear Lake, MN. Their claim to fame is the hometown of 'hooker number 2' from Fargo. She's the one that says "Go Bears" when interviewed by the police detective in the movie.

I need one of those. Singing my first solo in church tomorrow. Feels kinda like Midway. As the Japanese. Not sure what I'm heading into.
