I don't print.  I load the pdf in my iphone for handy reference.
iPad is better. Easier on the eyes because of the size.

Not printing as well. I'm used to screen reading and utilize my notebook for pdf manuals while playing.

If the manual has sufficient data that can't all be memorized, and the background is not colored, I print at home. I have tabbed sheets for dividers, great binders of various sizes, lots of ink cartridges, a find Dell color laser jet printer, several different types of paper, and time. However, the game has to be good enough to warrant the time and expense of it all.

Almost forgot to mention I also have a nice three hole paper puncher that can do up to about 20 to 30 sheets at a time, depending of course on the paper weight.

I reckon video tutorials are far better than manuals. However some games still come with manuals.

I go to the office very early and use the office printer to print manuals.

Sometimes I print 20 pages a day and print the manual over a series of days.

For all games I make a mini manual.

For example, page 10 of the game’s has the details on how to do an assault.

But buried at the bottom of page 35, is a comment about “such and such” which us crucial to an assault. Mysteriously they didn’t think to include “such and such” on page 10.

So, my mini manual, in the Assault section, has some notes from Page 10 and some from Page 35.

Then when I refer to my manual, I only need to refer to one page and don’t have to search for that note on the bottom of page 28 ( or was that 42??? I am sure I saw that somewhere! )

Sometimes a manual has useful schedules at the back. I copy these and place these at the back of my mini manual.

I have reduced the 213 page manual of Battles From the Bulge to 10 pages and I have covered each and every detail.

That's indeed a good idea, breaking down a manual to a 'sheet cheat' of one or maybe two double-sided pages. When it works with most computer languages, it should do as well with games. Something dev's might consider for the future.

As it is a PDF file, choose any word and use the search feature.

You will, soon have questions more than a mini manual.

In the meantime, Judy is having a disagreement with Dr Smith - I have to be somewhere .................!

This is a good question.  I'm not even sure which ones are still around in my area.  The WWI Gold Big Manual has been begging me to be printed but, Holy Testicle Tuesdays Batman!, is it massive.  I'd have to stop by a bank and rob it beforehand.

I'm an oddity.  I like to read the manuals, often numerous times.  Especially the big ones, but only in physical form - can't stand reading pdfs on my screen.

Well, I just ordered a Kindle so will have to see how that works out with the pdf files. I wish Matrix would at least have an option on the DX editions to order a manual. It would be worth an extra $10-$15 or so to me. I switch between games quite a bit and tend to forgot some of the finer rules.

I have Office Depot do mine. For WiTP, they printed mine with a colored cover with spiral binding for $20. Worth every penny.
