What are ship types AU? How are they used?

:) If you mean AV the A stands for auxiliary and V for heavier than air(craft). Which means its a Seaplane Tender. Gives you 18 (XXX+18) aviation support when parked at a beach hex or base, can only support float fighters, float planes and patrol planes. Useful for setting up forward deploying patrol planes (don't forget the supplies).
