I'll have to ask harder questions.

Where is it?

It would appear to be one of the Soviet Coast Defense Batteries. There were four such four-gun batteries on the Baltic Coast, two four-gun battieris on the Black Sea Coast, and two batteries in the Far East. The battleship turret was designed by the Metal Factory in 1909 and was based on the modernized mountings for the 12"/40 (30.5 cm) gun used on the Andrey Pervozvanny class battleships. This weapon is usually referred to as "Model 1910-1914" in western sources. Without seeing more of the map I can't get any more specific as to exact location or type.

Yes it is Battey 30 north of Sevastopol. You can find it as well as the rangefinder with Google Earth.

You can find the rangefinder on Google Earth? Amazing it's still there. I've read about the battle thirty years ago, never ever imagined I could someday just "google earth" it.
And thanks for the link.

And here's the original.

Range finder on the command center. View from the guns block

Range finder. View from command center to the gun turret #1 (barely visible on top of the height).

The strength of gun turrets are a bit of a problem for the Germans.

"German super heavy mortar "Karl"? I would love to have this baby on my side.

And what about rail guns?

Yeah, Karl could be put in PCO.

It fires one time and the Germans win. It clears the entire map with a single shot.

Weapons systems like these don't usually make it into tactical level gaming for the obvious reasons.

Good Hunting.

They fired Karl at this. It missed. Russians recovered a number of Karl dud shells.

Is "Karl" considered a experimental weapon?

No, Karl, Thor and all his Krupp relatives and cousins were the real deal and saw action just not all on the EF And therefore should be included as atleast off map support! Would be cool anyway, guess you wouldn't even have to make a detailed rail gun either for the map as it fired on targets from the other side of the planet...

And don't forget the Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen and escorts for some offshore support as well which I just so happen to have a pic, look to your left:

<<<<<<< She was involved in the late war evac support of Civ's and of course Military personal in the North which were trapped by the Red Hordes
