WE gave you the Spice Girls and Bananarama

True! And we've still not forgiven you!

You seem to have done a good job of lumbering us with Madonna Take her back else we will be forced to send you the ginger one from Girls Aloud. And Russell Brand.

Furthermore, any attempt to send them back will be met by deployment of Graham Norton.

We've already got one of your spice girls (and her soccer playing husband) and BBC America has already inflicted Graham Norton upon us. Why is it lately all the British "men" you've sent to visit all seem to be either gay or simply good at dressing the part?

Chocolate covered bacon is very tradable, but what did you get for Hannah Montana and Paris Hilton?

I'm with on the curry over burgers and tea over coke.

I always thought chocolate covered bacon was an urban myth, like an honest Scouser. Imagine my, erm delight, to find actual chocolate covered bacon available to buy when I went to the US. Despite 24 years of English food it still looked bloody horrible. Was it a joke that no-one got until too late? Is it an attempt to cram the maximum of calories into the smallest possible area? Is it a joke for the tourists, like bull's testicles in the Mid-East? Or do people actually eat that stuff voluntarily?

I don't normally like chocolate. But for choclate and bacon, I'll make an exception!
Silly Dixie, don't you know EVERYTHING taste better with bacon?!

I was thinking the same about Bananarama.

You actually remeber them? The only thing that kept them from being another one hit wonder from the 1980's is they actually got a 2nd hit.

I started college in 1985, when one of the first video jukeboxes was installed in the campus game room. Let's just say that the video for "Venus" was probably worn out.

In the same video jukebox was the RunDMC video with Aerosmith for "Walk This Way" that effectively resurrected Aerosmith's career.

Indeed it is a quite boring game. I have it on, but am not really paying attention as I wonder how the Hurricanes second day of training camp is going.

Where?

rader had started an interesting thread regarding search arcs. Some guy named ade hijacked it . michaelm has already had a look at the issue.

I just think I will never quite understand why some folks cannot simply do what rader did. Indentify a potential issue, do a bit of reseach, ask some questions, have a lively discussion, and so forth.

I quess there are drama queens everywhere.

The UK has always begrudged every penny spent on the armed forces and then wonders why we lose the opening rounds of every war. 'Twas ever thus.

Excepting for when you guys had a pretty well endowed military, won the opening rounds and then got pummeled at the end.

Judging by how that colony developed, I'm not so sure we actually lost that one We went somewhere alse and got tea and curry

And that colony turned into your banker!

Yes, and you still work for us, you give us money, fight our wars and come to see our Queen. And you speak our language, no matter how hard you try and disguise it with disproportionate usage of the letter 'z'. Not really broken the umbilical have you?

So says a Brit of a fellow Brit. I might have been impressed if the comment had come from a German,Swede,Frenchman or a Dane. But from a fellow Brit? That's just incestuous!

I've had it once-basically on a dare-at last year's MN State Fair. Ick. The two tastes-each respectable enough in their own right-are most certainly not complimentary. Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to cram more calories into a similar-sized space, wouldn't you?

Newbie question to The Thread - Come in thread (me thinks only you can answer this). I am fairly new to this forum and have only posted 8 times on various subjects. During this time, however, I have seen my 'ranking' rise from Matrix Recruit to Matrix Hero. My question is this: since four of my posts have mentioned the pleasures and deep inner meaning of beer, if I were to mention beer in all my posts, would I become a member of the Legion of Merit?
