I hope someone that knows what is "under the hood" in this game can help me with this nagging problem....

I never, or hardly ever, get an end of turn save file after I complete a PBEM turn. I got a few early on in a couple of games, then it stopped for a long time (more than a year...). Recently, I started a "mirror" set of games in an old "ported" scenario that does not come with the game....Now, I get an end of turn save file when I complete my turn as player 1, but not when I complete my turn as player 2! Nor do I get end of turn save files in any of the several other games that I am playing....

I even uninstalled TOAW III and re-installed it, but nothing has changed.

HELP! What triggers the game to save an end of turn save file? Is there a registry key somewhere that I need to turn on? Is it scenario specific? Is there a game setting that I need to fix? Or am I just jinxed?

I have searched my hard drive, and these files are not being saved in some obscure place, as near as I can figure out; the few end of turn save files that I do get are being saved in the same folder as my other save files.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks for any help you experts can provide!

Patton

The only thing I can see is that if your path is too long, it might cause problems. It's saved right before the pbl file. Can you try saving a poem file in something like c:\toawsaves

Ralph-

That did not do it....

I've saved my last few turns to a new folder "toawsave", outside of the TOAW III game folders, to give the saves a shorter path.

That changed nothing. I still don't get end of turn save files, even when I am player 2 in the scenario where I have been getting them as player 1!!!

There has to be a way to solve this; what in the game engine triggers it to create the end of turn file? How !I go under the hood and fix what is broken in my installation (re-installing did not do it - I've tried that already).

Would appreciate any ideas
