More dumb editor questions:

I want to set up a voluntary supply surge -- an event you can trigger at your option (by moving a marker into a hex) that provides your forces with a one-time boost in supply, typically just before an offensive.

I've carefully read the manual including page 58 (which describes the Force stockpile level increase event), page 24 (which provides a "Force Supply stockpile" definition); and page 47 (which describes the edit function). But I'd like to know a little more about this event.

What happens exactly when you fire the "Increase force stockpile" event? Is this a transitory increase to the side's force stockpile, or a permanent one? If the former, how long does the effect last? If the latter, prsumably the effect can be cancelled through a "reduce force stockpile" event in a turn or two?

Is this event the best way to give a force a one- or two-turn supply boost, or is there a better way to do it?

Many thanks for any help!

In 3.4 you can set an event which places a supply point with an extra value, say 200%... then a turn later, or two, whenever you want the supply boost to end, you set an event for that one supply point with a value of 0%

Once you change the supply stockpile, it stays at that level until you change it by another event, or an event is triggered to change it by some occurance.

Instead of moving a marker, you can also use a Theater Option.

So here's what I've been able to learn, working from the Iraqi information minister's (aka silvanski) sage advice.

It seems possible to create an optional supply surge this way:

Event 1. Theatre Option 1. Activated by Turn [specify turn]. Activate Event 2.
Event 2. Supply point 1. [location] Activated by Turn 999. Delay 1. Value [say 250].
Event 3. Supply point 1. [same location] Activated by Event 2. Delay 2. Value [say 100].

This seems to create a theatre option; when that theater option is triggered it does bump the supply level in the specified supply point to 250; and it does reduce the level back to 100 two turns later. That should supply a supply surge.

The voodoo here is the need to put in "activated by turn 999" in event 2 -- not immediately obvious in the generally excellent manual, let's say. However, I found this formulation on a discussion board implementing a different effect, tried it, and it seems to work nicely.

Many thanks, comrade Silvanski!
