Look at the 29th Panzergrenadier. It soaks up all Flak guns. It had also 40+ 105mm AA Guns which I removed during the past few turns.

The aa guns are most likely in the units toe - table of organization and equipment so they will automatically keep getting replaced.

I would not find that suprising.

This is the 29th Panzer Grenadier Division. Are you aware that on their actual TOE they list 5 separate Artillery Regiments at this time in Italy? The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 29th Artillery Rgt. to be exact. Also the main artillery gun for German units in the Med in 43 would be very heavy in the 88mm dual purpose weapons. Also factoring in they are in a definate defensive posture during this period they would be the recipient of many additional pieces of equipment "Adhoc" I believe would be a relavent term. I dont find this too far out for a Mechanized Elite Panzer formation in 43 when there was still a lot of equipment to be had. Also this game allows for the adding of AA weapons to units. Since it is after all focused on the Air Campaign and not the Ground War I would expect this to some extent.

Of course as usual I could be completely wrong about anything.

Just my thoughts though.

Later,

KayBay

Doubt its the (ingame) TOE. Played a few turn more Turns after I reduced the AA guns (105mm from 40 down to 10, 88mm from 71 down to 10 and 20mmquad from 60 down to 24) and their equippment dont grow again.
Maybe they tumbled over a big AA gun storage and claimed them all

With the 9thSS in the normandy another thing: Everytime I assign AA machineguns to them (40 pieces are my standard setup) they are all gone 1 round later.

Another observation: The allies shatbomb the railyards in northern Italy all the time but they hardly get any damage. I thought this was fixed? (this occurred in the original game back in the days).
